The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

My apologies, of course. [ he takes the hand holding hers and kisses her knuckles softly. he ain't even sorry, but he's sure she knows that. he just isn't impressed by the set up ladies have. ] If I have a moment of hetero-clarity, I will be sure to find you though.

For the most part -- I didn't really know what to expect, honestly.

The parties get easier, they're nearly always the same. Usually not so gloomy. [ want to spin rebekah? he's gonna spin her, very graceful, pulling her back snugly against him but with enough space between them to be not skeevy. ]

Parties I can usually manage. [She totally wants to spin, and does so with grace before pulling in close again.]

The amount of people we've been bringing in... there's sure to be another next month. Hopefully it will be less somber.

Probably not, but you're bound to pick up on it, seeing as it's the current topic of castle gossip. [ he shrugs, seemingly unconcerned. he is though, he's a huge fan of thomas. :( ] Until recently a pair of knights had been kidnapped on Andres Isle -- the home of one of our most... slippery enemies. Our Dragon's Claws managed to rescue them both, but Sandaris kept one of the Claws hostage. As... incentive, I suppose. It also came to light that the two missing knights were replaced with a fucking doppelgänger, of all things. It's been a fairly... dramatic couple of weeks.

They're always problems.

You have experience with them? [ his eyebrows raise slightly. ] They're usually incredibly rare.

My world had a bit of a thing for a particular line of them.

[ ahh that actually makes it sound more reasonable, one line instead of millions of them running around. ] Sounds like a pain in the ass.

You have no idea. I've ran into three of them over my long life. Nothing but trouble.

[Rebekah frowns a little at that.] I never particularly cared for the idea of virgin sacrifice -- it's a rather patriarchal concept.

[It's rarely the male virgins targeted, after all.]

Stiles will be so relieved. [ yeah, gus was definitely thinking of guys, but when does he not. (even if he doesn't think of stiles like that because ew.) ]

Societal constructs aimed to diminish women. I've always thought... that if you think a woman is unpure after you've been with her, maybe you should wash your own hands. But then again, I don't make a habit of having sex with women.
