The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ this is 100% true, gus just happens to be incredibly comfortable in a suit as he wore one every day for over a decade for work, but helen... damn that woman can rock the menswear look. she's a freak of nature. ] But. Why do I have the feeling your definition of druid isn't the ancient Gaelic scholar definition?

If you mean an educated professional who moonlights as a practitioner of ancient nature magic, then no, my definition is exactly the same.

[ he smiles a little, impressed that she knew that much. most people hear druid and just stare at him in confusion. even his mother, a sorceress, was like wtf????? and mama harrison knows all. she's pm kira's mom, just a well of random ass knowledge. ]

It seems to be an uncommon branch, but effectively, it's the same thing. Scholars, businessmen, we just happen to commune with nature that grants us divine abilities similar to clerics and sorcerers.

Sorcerers are born with latent magical abilities—is it the same for druids? [ she's been reading. a lot. she's had about a week to try and get the lay of things, and it's involved finding as much information as she possibly can. ]

Not entirely. It's divine magic, so the ability is granted to us, either from a god or nature itself. [ he shrugs dismissively, that's not incredibly important. ] But like sorcerers and bards the magic we can use doesn't require study, though we still need to meditate in order to prepare the magic. ...are you interested in magic?

Not in using it, no. [ let's nip that in the bud. ] But magic got us here. I'd be an idiot if I didn't try to learn everything I can about it.

Smart girl. [ it's up to her if she wants to take it for trying to learn about it or not trying to use it. he doesn't really care. ]
