The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Hayley frowns. Her hand moves to take a light hold of Rebekah's. It's a comforting thing and also she's a bit tired of standing.]

There was an explosion in the bayou. Maybe Elijah called you.

No. It was Nik. He was the one who called me, I remember that much.

[She squeezes Hayley's hand gently.]

[Hayley frowns. She knows that there are people here who have forgotten things and she doesn't want Rebekah to be one of those people.]

Klaus called you? [She knows that things hadn't exactly gone perfectly. Rebekah could leave, but never return. That's definitely not something where Klaus just calls her.]

What else do you remember?

Not much, I can't remember why he called me. But it had to be important.

[They hadn't parted on the best of terms, after all. Leave and never come back is what she was told.

What could have changed that?]

Maybe he just realized that we need more help. I don't know who attacked the bayou, but people are hurt. If they were after me, they're going to have a harder time with me not there.

Maybe. Still, I would imagine things had to be dire for him to call me....after everything. Perhaps it's all for the better you're not there, then.

I'm sure that it's better I'm not there. They're trying to make a statement and that statement is that I'm not safe anywhere.

Well, you're save here. I won't let anything happen to you.

[She nods.]

I know. She's due in a little more than a month. I won't be going on missions for a while, but I'm glad that I'm not alone here.

[easily]

I'm glad you aren't too.

[Hayley smiles and gives Rebekah a hug. She pulls away with another smile.]

We should get you another drink.

[easily]

[She smirks, nodding.]

You're right. I think mine's broken.

[consequence]

[Hayley laughs and offers her arm. It's a kind gesture, but really mostly for her own support needs.]

Well, you have to drink for me too. That's a priority.

[AND OFF THE GO TO FIND BEKS SOME BOOZE.

No doubt, they'll find it and then Hayley will have to pee (since that darn baby is pressing on her bladder) and they'll get split up.]
