The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Chewie's been with me for a while. Since before I met the knights. We keep each other company.

What kind of dog is he? Do you know?

[parsecs]

A walking carpet. [He ruffles the dog's fur affectionately.] I dunno. Some kind of mutt.

[mydesigns]

He seems good-natured. [okay a few more pets and he's done.] I brought one with me, too.

[parsecs]

Yeah? [He glances around trying to spot the dog (spot 10).] Chewie must've smelled him on you.

[mydesigns]

He's around here, somewhere ... [his eyes scan the room until he sees lemon with abigail. it's all ok.] Abigail has him. He's, uh, the white fluffy thing.

[parsecs]

[Han nods, though he doesn't keep looking, cause he doesn't care that much.]

Met her. Didn't meet the dog.

[mydesigns]

I knew her from before. ... Before I ever came here.

[parsecs]

And she knows you too? [Look, Han has some people he knows from before too, it just... hasn't exactly been mutual. For any of them.]

Yes. I think she may remember me better than I remember her, actually.

[parsecs]

Veil's fun like that. Believe me, you got the better end of the bargain.

Why do you say that?

[parsecs]

I got people here who don't remember me. It ain't easy.

[mydesigns]

It seems like both sides would get a raw deal.

[parsecs]

Yeah, guess so. [But Leia seems to be having a fine time not remembering him. Not that... he's told her she should yet.]

[mydesigns]

As much as it hurts for the person who remembers, the person who can't is left feeling frustrated after being told that they should be remembering something they simply don't.

That assumes you're telling 'em. [Whoops Han may have... left some things out when he talked to Leia.]

I suppose so, but sometimes there are holes so big you can't help but notice.

[parsecs]

I think everyone has those. [He can't remember his ship, but he knows she was important to him. He's a pilot and a captain. She has to have been important. Sometimes he feels like for as all that he remembers, he's forgotten twice as much. And just because other people remember less doesn't mean there aren't parts of him still floating out in space.] Just one more gift the veil gives us.
