The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Can't fault them for aiming high and remaining optimistic. And really- when you show up looking like you do, it's no wonder.

Unfortunately, while I've heard that you're now a kept man, I haven't been able to determine exactly who it is that's managed the feat. [Do they keep it to themselves? Helen works a lot so maybe she's just only now caught wind of this. Stranger things have happened.]

Haven't you now? [ they don't really advertise all that much, other than when they appear together at squiring parties, so not that surprising at all. he nods across the room at francesca. ] The most beautiful woman in the room, of course. No offense.

[ francesca's ears are ringing ... or maybe she just has that distinct feeling that someone is watching her. either way, she happens to turn just in time to catch val'drin's gaze, an affectionate grin lighting up her face.

give her a few moments to wrap up her conversation here, and then she'll make her way over. ]

[Helen follows his nod, seeing the response from Francesca across the way.]

None taken. I'd say it would be incredibly telling if you didn't think of her as such.

[ francesca sidles up to them during that last part, standing intimately close to val'drin b/c she likes when he touches her, especially in public ] Kudos for what now?

[oh hey girl. helen gives francesca a bright, welcoming smile.]

Oh, nothing important, dear. [She waves a hand to brush that topic aside.] You look absolutely stunning tonight.

[ his fingers brush against her back as he affords her a proud smile. ] Doesn't she? Although 'tonight' would imply that was unusual.

[ all this flattery feels a little weird, but you know what, she'll take it. besides, val'drin deserves to show her off - she didn't get all gussied up for nothing. ]

Thank you. [ she leans in to kiss the corner of his mouth, pulling away to turn her smile toward helen ] Both of you.

[Maybe Helen just wants to join you guys okay?? No, she just ships it. Shut up- there's very little to be happy with around here. It's time to get on the shippy train to distract herself.]

Oh, believe me. I intend to. [ and he'll wrap one hand around her waist to lead her that way ] Good seeing you, Helen.
