The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

The whole thing's pretty random. People dumped all over the globe? It's a wonder more people don't just get plopped in the drink.

Tell me about it. Everyone used to come through the Veil from the same dimension, at least - the Shadow World. Very Lord of the Rings. But over the last few years, things have gotten hella weird. It's like the dimensional floodgates opened up.

[Rebekah was in a coffin when Lord of the Rings came out, she doesn't know what that is :( But she'll play along and pretend like she does...]

Do people know what caused the change?

No clue. Lots of people have theories and stuff but every one sounds as lame as the last one. Maybe the Veil is just breaking down completely.

Well, that's not surprising. The theories most people come up for how the world works tend to be lame.

Good point. So what kind of cool stuff can you do? I mean, if the answer's nothing, that's ok too, I guess I sort of offended that one dude earlier.

Is that something people do here, just talk about their abilities openly?

Well... yeah? I mean, in the field we might need to rely on someone else's abilities to even stay alive so... it's good to know what we're dealing with.

I'm a vampire. An Original. That means superior strength, speed, healing, and senses. Along with compulsion.

I've been teammates with a vampire for almost two years now. Never heard him say anything about what it means to be 'original' though. Is that some kind of hipster thing for vamps?

Not exactly -- at least from my world it isn't. My family were the first vampires -- hence Original

For the most part. I don't know the exacts of the spell but I remember the ritual involved.

My mother was a witch, so yes.
