The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

That's because you're not the one who has to play goh with her every Saturday over Skype and listen to her asking when you're going to give her little Korean grandbabies. [ his mom doesn't care that he is gay, she just wants grandbabies. ]

Maybe it's just because I've never been in the situation, but I can think of a lot worse things than an overbearing mother. [ but she laughs, b/c she really doesn't know. MAYBE IT IS THE WORST. but at least he has someone who loves him unconditionally, ok. ]

She would happily adopt you, Francesca. She would be over the moon. She tries to mother Helen, for god's sake. If you let her, you'd find yourself trapped in a Korean family with no hope of escape.

Well Malina's already vetoed Janine's suggestion of letting me turkey bast her. [ malina is gus' bff. they were squired together and she is, in fact, whom the bear is named after, though she's been off doing ~things for a couple years. the conversation between the two twenty year old college kids and gus' mom over a decade ago had been hilarious. malina fell off the chair she was laughing so hard. malina harvey will not be gus' baby momma. it's all up to helen. ]

[ luckily francesca got a high enough wisdom check to remember who his bff malina is, so she doesn't get weirded out believing the bear was an option for surrogate. ] Lucky for you, it's not as if Helen's running out of time to make a decision anytime soon.
