The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

This may seem an odd question, but do you happen to have a sister here?

[Considering Hayley's background and her lack of a family, along with her search for said family only to learn that her parents were dead - asking about a sister is the oddest thing that could have come up.]

It is an odd question, but it's okay. I don't have a sister. My parents gave me up for adoption when I was a baby. So, as far as I know it's just me.

I only ask because there's another here who bears a striking resemblance to you.

[Hayley's brow furrows, glancing around as if this striking resemblance girl will just suddenly appear in her sight-line. Probably not. Back to the tedious task of staring at this guy.]

Like we could be twins? Because, I've seen that before back home. [Katherine, Elena - etc. etc.]

Enough to warrant my asking if you have a sister, at the very least.

[But Hayley seemed interested in spotting who this girl might be among the crowd, so.]

I don't think we're related, but maybe I just forgot. That's a thing that happens here, I've been told. Do you have siblings?

I do. An older brother. Unlike most, I've found that most of my memories remain intact.

Well, so far as I can tell in any event.

[She nods.]

I don't think I've forgotten anything, either. I mean, at least not the big things. [A small joke about her not so small situation.]

[Speaking of the obvious--]

How long will it be?

Not soon enough. [Her head cants slightly.] A month and a half. She's fine, though. Strong. She handled everything so far. What's a little dimension switching.

Have you chosen a name?

[Look at him all interested in this baby business.]

[She draws a blank for a moment.] You know, with everything that had been going on... all I was thinking about was letting her be born safely.

[Now she's gonna worry about that!] I haven't thought about it at all.

[That's a little odd, but ... he won't pry ok.]

Well, are you certain it will be a "her"?

[Survival > thinking up baby names.]

Oh, I'm sure it's a girl.

[He doesn't know that there is technology to figure out gender ok, it's literally never come up in his studies of the modern world.]

How can you be so sure?

[Nothing modern for her except that one time they checked the heartbeat.]

Because a powerful witch told me and I can sort of feel it. I can feel how strong she is.

I see. [That actually seemed to make a lot more sense to him.]

Do you also use magic? [Because Faye sure does.]

Magic? No. I'm a werewolf. We don't use magic. My baby -- she's a quarter witch though. But, I'm not really sure if that means she'll be able to do magic or not.

[He doesn't seem all that surprised. There were werewolves and mages where he comes from so it's not like this was a shocking revelation.]

It sounds as thought she has an impressive background. I can't wait to meet her.

She does. [Hayley smiles, feeling that sense of pride well up within her.]

I can't wait to meet her either.

Has anyone given you the tour just yet?

The basic one. [She's been here a bit, just settling in and making sure the baby was okay.]

I'm sure there are other places that are more important than where the medical things happen.

[Well, time to fix that. He holds his arm out for her. No time like the present tbh.]

Just to warn you, being pregnant means I might waddle, but I don't waddle slowly.
