The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

From what I've seen, those incapable of loyalty are often ignorant or apathetic. And to be either is just as dangerous as someone with a weapon in their hands.

I can't take all the credit. My parents always guided me well, and I'm grateful for that. [ At least she doesn't know they're dead yet. ]

It can make all the differences to a young one. I wish I could have seen to the raising of my own, but the Veil had other plans for me.

[ Her expression changes and softens noticeably. ] That must have been difficult. Even now, you must think of them often?

Ay, but it has been a very long time. I was a young man when I came here.

And you've found a purpose here, when you could have simply wasted time with self-pity.

I've Wynn to thank for that. Many of us do.

I'm grateful. Arriving here was difficult, and I worried about everyone I left behind. We were trying to overthrow an empire wielding far too much power, governing without mercy. But having a purpose here gave me hope again.

It's hard, leaving behind the fight, not knowing if it will ever be a victory. But for a time, you were there, and you gave yourself to it, and there's nothing more to be asked.

And now you've a chance to do it all again.
