The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Is there any particular rationale behind that little policy, or do you just enjoy punishing yourself? I know you didn't take the job because you couldn't find anyone to violate that ... "professional distance" with. [ like yo you're old but you're still hot. she moves her hand to adjust his tie, but it's not so much making a move as it is simply invading his personal space to further her objective evaluation. ]

[ he (politely as always) reaches up to take the tie out of her grasp as if to say no thank you, he's got this ] It's the same rationale that keeps Wynn from forging personal connections with any of us. We can't afford to be distracted from the job, or to have a reason to play favorites with the lives of other Knights in the field. We seek to preserve objectivity.

[ he chuckles like OH, KIDS. ] Well. I suppose it's because there are some of us who believe what we do to be worth whatever... sacrifice that might entail.

Oh, sacrifice is one thing, but that's just unnecessary.

Wynn disagrees. He wants our heads to be entirely in the game, as they say.

I've watched a lot more stupidity come out of sexual frustration than satisfacition. [ Just sayin'. Oh, right, trying to be nice. ] ... No offense.

None taken. There's strength to be taken in restraint, for some.

Strength of will works much in the same way as bodily strength. Exercising it makes it only more powerful.

[ Her eyes darken slightly and she drops her gaze, considering. ]

That's only true as long as you're effective in resisting what it is you're using your willpower against. [ Her gaze lifts back to lock on his. This time, it's apparent she's not just humping his leg, but thinking of something else entirely. ] Sometimes it could just break you.

[ sympathy enters his eyes, and he politely looks down ] You don't strike me as the sort to break easily.

[ Defensive ??? Generally sharp. The aggression lasts for a moment longer before her gaze drops, thoughtful, distant, damaged. The song ends and she pulls her hands back. ]
