CHAPTER THREE ♔ what's done in the dark will be brought to the light

♬ god's gonna cut you down - johnny cash

WHO || The Knights
WHAT || The aftermath of Chapter 2

WHERE || London, England and variou
WHEN || Evening of June 7th --> onwards
HOW || Actionspam. Single thread.

In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

Afraid I wouldn't know. I've never spoken to her. I'm not sure I'd know her if she walked right up t me. But since she could look like anyone, I suppose that hardly puts me at a disadvantage.

[He hits the button to unlock the doors so they can all pile in.]

No, though she was recently knighted. [It was a mess of a knighting ceremony.] Though as of now I don't believe it's known if she did this of her own free will or is being coerced in some way.

I suppose we just search for people looking out of place. [Though again, can look like anyone. The venture seems rather hopeless.]

Mind control isn't out of the realm of possibility.

[ As she speaks, she slides into the car, next to the driver's seat, fully intending to exert some measure of control when possible. ]

Searching for someone appearing to be out of place won't be easy given the circumstances, but not impossible either. It's one thing to disguise appearance, but body language isn't so easily mimicked.

You would be surprised.

[He's not so easily fooled, okay. The doppelganger acted just like Rose.]

This thing lived in the castle for a month posing as two different people. I don't think it will be looking particularly out of place, especially considering they're unlikely to take the forms of anyone who's mannerisms we would be familiar with.

I think our best hope is that we get the jump on them, truly. Going to need more dumb luck than any of that. Good for us that I tend to have an abundance.
unhand: (and we're not speaking)

[Hook scoffs.] I've always been one for making my own luck. Either way, we'll need more than may actually exist.

Still, we have to try.

[His fingers grip harder on the steering wheel.]

The question is where should we search first?
useagoodkiss: (That my friend is a dark side)

Dumb luck isn't very comforting, but I suppose that's all we have at the moment.

[ She just has to make her opinion known. ]

What would you suggest? [ He's driving; leading, from a certain perspective. ]

I would suggest the train station, whichever might be the main hub of London itself. I would imagine they might believe themselves to have more luck with a mode of transportation that doesn't require as much legal identification as an airport would.

[But he's open to other ideas.]
unhand: (perfect bedhead)

[personal profile] unhand 2014-07-01 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Hook shakes his head.] By that logic, they'd be better off in boats. They're headed to an island, are they not? [Also Hook just likes boats. #piratelife. He shakes his head.] But I doubt they'd go for something so obvious. They'll know we'll try and shut everything down immediately to keep 'em from leaving. So why bother? I'd wager we'd be better off thinking outside the box.
useagoodkiss: (Tell me I'll never have to be out there)

[personal profile] useagoodkiss 2014-07-03 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
[ Leia's always been more of a leader, implementing plans and following instructions, but she hasn't been in this position for very long, and is trusting the people with a bit more experience. ]

Thinking outside the box is a broad answer. What's going to get us the quickest results?

I actually think the docks might be a good place to start. Not exactly a common piece of transport these days. Not many people would even think of it. Save for two old pirates. And maybe a doppelganger?
