In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

[Girl is on a mission. Having to spring into action like this gets her heart going, because she's not one that likes to sit around constantly and watch the grass grow.

True, she'd rather she didn't have to hunt down one of their own, but it's not the first time someone went rogue on an organization.

The heels of her thigh high boots click against the pavement as she lifts the keys and wiggles them in the air, listening to them clink as she grins over at him.]

[Aedan doesn't know anyone involved in this mess but he's pretty used to being clueless anymore, so when he's asked to team up he doesn't hesitate. He'll be taking one of the back seats, since he's obviously not driving and the lovebirds are likely to take the front two seats.]

Do we have any idea where we'll be searching?

[Normally, Brantley has the answer to this one since predicting what escapees do was the thing he studied in college. But, unlike normal criminals, those two can shapeshift, and he didn't learn how to catch shapeshifter in college.] They should be looking for a safe place to wait for a chance to get out of the country.

I'll work on tracing her phone. [He says as he takes shotgun, yep. He cracks open his laptop and lets his fingers do the walking (computer use 34).]

Might take a minute. Might be best just to get on the road and we can turn around if we need to. [He figures Bo doesn't want to sit around and wait for his computer to go ding with an answer.]

If she's smart, she's not going to have it on her.

It's going to take awhile to get to the city anyway. We'll have time to figure out where to go from there.

Do you think it worth considering that they may have taken the less obvious route?

[Since everyone and their mother way probably going to be looking in the city before they looked anywhere else.]

I agree. [Brantley goes to his thinking mode. He sits quietly in the back seat, concentrating, trying to pick the route with has the largest possibility.]

If they are going to Andres, the sea is the easiest route to do that. [Because airports have higher security and it's not like you can find a rental jet easier than a rental boat.]

But as I said, they need to wait for the right moment for that. I still need more information about them, but in panic, people tend to go to somewhere that has connection to them, like a relative's house or memorable places that can give them peace of mind. [That's not helpful, but at least he's trying.] There's also a small chance that they're still in the castle, waiting for us to disperse like this.

[Andrew sits up a little straighter and turns to look at Brantley.]

Shit, you're right. They could be here. Hell, they could be in one of the cars, just waiting to roll out to jump out god knows where. Fuck. [He rubs at his forehead, sighing as he tries to think it through.]

We should double back. Head out, wait ten minutes, then circle back- just to be sure. If Wynn gets pissed, I'll tell him I made the call.

[Less obvious route seems more likely than sticking around the castle, but maybe doppelgangers don't go the obvious route for...obvious reasons.

Basically, give them time to think they've dodged the worst of it, then catch them if they're escaping behind the manhunt?

[She'll drive a couple more minutes then, before she turns the car around.]

[Aedan just meant that maybe they took one of the back country roads out of the city or something, since that's where everyone would be going to look first. But sure, that works too. Andrew is smarter than him, even if he plays flappy bird and installed that shit on Aedan's phone. :/]

The chance is pretty slim though. If you guys have any better idea, it's better you guys bring it up now.

[And now, he just realizes that he is sitting in a car with two people he is awkward with, Bo and Aedan. He still doesn't know that Andrew is okay with Bo fulfilling her needs with other guys, and the incident at the club hasn't faded away from his mind yet. And he is also still unsure about his relation with Aedan after their last spar. Because of that, he is currently sitting quietly and awkwardly, trying to avoid eye contact with both of them.]

Basically anything we do is a shot in the dark. [Mr Optimism over here.] Might as well just pick a plan and go for it.

If we keep second guessing ourselves, we won't get anywhere.

I trust one direction is as good as another at this point.
