In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

Since the last half a year. [ He's so done and doesn't have to lie. ] Look, you've heard of the veil, right? I fell through. And until today, I was fine drinking and awaiting my squiring ceremony. Sure, I wondered if being a knight was right for me, but I had no choice. Because my brother isn't here. And I was plucked out of my life. Like that. Like a [ He snaps. ] snap. So, imagine my surprise when I hear Elena Gilbert's name and something clicks into place. I know her. I've known her. And now she's in trouble. Which, is nothing new - but here I am, here to help. And before you ask. Elena Gilbert. Mystic Falls. Anything beyond that - gets pretty fuzzy. Also, thanks to the veil. Now. Has anyone seen Elena. Or, where a [ a wisdom check of 19 means he remembers the name Wynn provided ] Ser O'Rourke is and if her scrying has garnered any results at all.

She's right there. [ and though she didn't introduce herself, abigail is smarter than your average bear. she points to the only other female in their group huddle. ] And no one has seen Elena. That's the point.

Alaric doesn't even bother to argue, because there was more important shit to do right now. Namely, the longer they put off scrying for Elena, the harder it was going to be to actually get to her. But his gaze narrows on Damon some because that is quite a claim to fame and a very convenient coincidence.]

[annnd alainn looks as though she is measuring the hallway's width and length with her fingers, one eye squinted like an artist taking measurements.]

Aye, that looks big enough. [she glances back, finally noticing the newest addition to their group.]

Alright, clear back a minute, this is kinda big. [once she is sure that everyone is safely behind her, she gestures wordlessly to the hall in front of them all. with a loud crash a large trunk the size of a storage unit lands in the middle of the gigantic hallway. the trunk measures 10ftx10ftx15ft, with a door on one end which alainn approaches quickly and opens, muttering under her breath to herself as she does.

after a moment of searching around she finally seems to find what she had been searching for, grabbing hold of a rather large object and starting to tug it out of the trunk, rather unsuccessfully [str 9]. with a frustrated sound she looks back at the three guys behind her.]

[he finished talking to wynn and catching up to current events, but he was still lingering around. apparently since alainn recruited him to help with whatever's in that monster trunk. he peers back in from the doorway, and goes to help, too. (str 19) ]
