In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

[ Maybe it should be less impressive the second time but now there are two, so. Nope, still not bad. She grins right back. ] Keep it up with hands like that and maybe I'll be. [ ...askin' for it? Does that even make sense? It just kind of comes out, because she's on fire with the will rolls tonight (7. But Charisma 17?) This is going to end poorly, isn't it. Good thing she's kept a couple bottles and a cup of ice for herself. ]

he flashes her a flirtatious look of his own (cha 16) as he pops open the bottle ] Lucky for me, I can't turn 'em off, then.

[ Good, she's impressed literally the only person on this plane she isn't supposed to be impressing. ] Shame we're so far from street-level.

Who said street level was a requirement? [ he smirks in the direction of the little back room with a charisma check of 25 to lay down what he's getting at wink wink ]

[ Kate's answering smirk is definitely tempted (way too tempted, will save 17), but tipped the opposite direction towards the rest of the cabin. ] The plane full of people in mourning I'm meant to be impressing?

[ well his will save vs the boner this whole idea's giving him started with a roll of 2, so he's gonna keep trying look at that ] What they don't know won't hurt 'em. And all that mourning just means none of them are paying attention to what the hell we're doing. If you go ahead, I'll wait a few, and then --

[ Why does this sound reasonable? Because somehow it's sounding reasonable. Maybe she was already a little drunk when she got on the plane? Kate fiddles with the pair of bottles in her hand, one nail cutting a ring in the red wax over the top as teeth dig briefly into her lip. ]

You had better use all your hunter stealth skills. I do not want to have to try to explain this one in my interview. [ Which is probably a good sign that YOU SHOULD NOT DO IT but too late, she is out of her seat and down the aisle. ]

[ awwww yih, this outfit is finally lookin' up. as are... other things, probably. anyway, he dutifully waits a few minutes, flipping through his magazine while not really reading it, knee jiggling a bit, before he finally finishes off his mini-bottle and gets up, stealthily slipping into the back as unnoticed as he can (move silently 26, hide 25).

he pushes open the door with a smirk on his face and steps inside, letting it shut behind him. ]

[ And Kate reaches past him to make sure it shuts quietly, listening a moment to see if there's any reaction outside. And then looks back up to Dean. Sooooo. Here they are. She just about matches his smirk. ] Hey. [ Also here, two little plastic bottles now empty of Maker's and rolling around in the sink instead. Look it felt like a long wait okay. She's tempted to let him move first but instead gets a hand in his shirt and pulls him down. ]

well, hello. dean's smirk widens into a grin against her lips for the first few seconds and then it's all business, and apparently he's a fucking professional at this business because ahahahah he rolled a nat 20 dex check fuck the haters. so congrats, he's like the best kisser in the goddamn world, apparently. who knew. one hand slides around her waist to pull her flush against him, and back them both up against the door for some leverage (str 22, whoops that might have been a little louder than he was going for, but it's... hot at least). and so is he because his charisma check is also a 20, yowza.

he's gonna crit fail his fort save, isn't he. ]

[ Maybe this will not prove to be a massively regrettable decision after all. Assuming that Dean doesn't suddenly get airsick, and he probably should be pretty distracted from the fact that they're on a plane since her dex 18 makes Kate at least like the third best kisser in the world. The door is good and yeah surprisingly hot but not an arrangement she can keep up for as long (str 13), tearing herself away to hop up onto the tiny counter's edge instead and haul him over while simultaneously wrestling shirts off. It should be awkward, especially with elbows and narrow spaces, but she rolled a fucking nat 20 on charisma for a total of 22 so. Somehow it works.

They do not deserve to be this good at this. ]

[ this was the world's best decision clearly. between both of their dex checks, clothes fall away like they're evaporating, so i guess this is neither of their first enclosed space rodeo. he pulls away for a moment with his hands on her waist to take a good look at her and enjoy the view before it's back to eager makeouts and pulling her forward to the edge of the counter enough that her hips can still straddle against his while he's standing. it's worth mentioning that his actual sex wisdom check was a six, so this is not going to be some kind of amazing foreplay situation for her pleasure. whoops, there goes her bra. ]

[ Clearly a pretty amazing decision, so just drop that anywhere. Kate is more interested in Dean's tattoo and his arms, which she is running hands over the second his shirt is off, while legs curl around his hips for balance. Wis 17 makes this a little bit of a one-way street for the moment, one of those unfairly clever hands slid between them and into his pants. Everyone listening in from the main cabin will no doubt be pleased to hear her remember to drag her teeth off his ear long enough to whisper, ] Condom. You have one, right?

Right, yeah, 'course. [ he moves back as he yanks out his wallet and retrieve s the condom, but as he's going to open it, the plane hits a turbulent bump and his knuckles go white as his other hand grips the counter beside her. Mild panic seeps across his expression . ] What was that?!

What? Turbulence? [ Kate is confused for a second and just sort of looking at him because what is wrong with you what do you mean what was that haven't you ever-- ] Oh my god you're scared of flying.

[ She narrowly manages not to laugh probably only because they were doing so well before this. Good thing he's basically the world's best kisser today and has built up some good will. She will attempt to be helpful (if selfish). ] Okay, protip: you're gonna want to focus on something else. Let me suggest me. [ Come on, Dean, let her pry that hand off the counter and transfer it to her chest while the other reminds him it is still down his pants right now. If the plane's going to kill them might as well die happy, right? ]

[well then. Her hand down his pants plus boobs is pretty great incentive to follow her advice. And his will save is a 22 to get it together and swallow down the blinding terror. He does fumble for half a second with the wrapper, but then it's smooth sailing as he...tears it with his teeth or something one-handed. His fingers slide down her stomach to twist open the button on her pants and he grins at her between kisses. ] You are one cool chick, you know that?

[ #nailedit. The embarrassment sure to come only makes it more important to bask in the moment, and Kate just grins right back. ] Yeah, I do. [ She punctuates this bit of half-teasing ego with another kiss and a particularly well-calculated slide of her palm. Her hands are rough for a girl who's so comfortable with private planes and there are a couple slender blade scars across her arms, ribs, and belly not quite hidden against pale skin if one's looking. When he goes for her jeans she lifts up from the counter on a hand to help wriggle them off. ]

[ that earns a warm chuckle, but then pants are coming off and he's in the freaking zone, so this train is apparently not stopping.

Guess what, he got a 20 fort save too, so I guess all the rumors are true about dean's prowess. Though his low wisdom checks combined with that earlier strength score mean he's probably not as subtle about the loud banging noises back in this room as he should be. WHATEVER. Ride of your life, official mile high club get. Also vomit free. :') ]

[ Technically Kate was already a member of the 200+ mile high club but vomit free!! Always a plus.

And good thing too; she hasn't known him long enough to hear rumors but there are clearly going to be some after this. And now all the vampires can vouch for him! In the back of her mind the sound registers as a thing that is bad but her fort save was 11, so ride of her life distraction quickly puts concerns out of her mind and prevents any attempt to put a stop to it beyond burying her face in his shoulder to avoid adding to the noise. Way to go Dean. ]

[ yowza. After all is said and done, as he's yanking up his pants, still shirtless, he shoots her an appreciative smirk because damn if it wasn't good for both of em. ] You know, I might get the hang of this flying thing yet.

[ Seriously. Kate collects her clothes from around him and slips back into them, casting a smirky grin of a look up his torso as she twists from fastening her bra and shakes her hair out with a hand, finger-combing through before putting it back up. ] Yeah? Well maybe you should let me know next time you're planning on doing some.

Gonna start racking up those frequent flier miles. [ hurr hurr hurr. he ... finds his shirt and yanks that on, sigh bye bye tattoo ]
