In less than twenty-four hours, everything has turned on its head.

A Knight and her allies were kidnapped by Iscariot agents for execution in Rome, barely escaping with their lives.

A mission meant to free one Knight from the influence of a dark god succeeded - at the price of another's life.

A simple recon mission at a Keijen Blade concert nearly led to two Knights committing mind-controlled suicide in front of an eager crowd.

Several Knights went to see Draken Crombe, leader of the Church of the Lord's Humanity, speak in person, and learned just how sinister his religion's dogma is.

A call from Sir Hathaway alerted Wynn to the escape of the doppelganger from the Knight's dungeons, an escape perhaps aided by Elena Gilbert.

A demigod interrupted what might have been a simple smash and grab retrieval of an artifact.

And most horrific of all, in the middle of the night, hundreds of Shadowkind in New York City awoke, and walked in a mindless trance down to the Hudson River to drown themselves. Only the quick thinking and combined efforts of the Knights present and their allies prevented all of them from succeeding.

Beset on all sides, a dark time awaits for the Knighthood - who were already suffering from the capture of Dragon's Claw Sir Thomas Bancroft at the hands of their long time enemy Dimitris Sarandis of Andres Isle.

In times such as these, the light can be difficult to find. Hope itself seems somewhere just out of reach.

[She holds her hands apart to give a measure of rough size- indicating something that would probably equate to a dog that was juuuust on the edge of being too big to be a lap dog. This is very precise measuring. Shut up.]

Flywackets are cousins to dragons. They can appear catlike, but if they're around people they trust, they may reveal the two large wings they keep hidden in folds along their back. And their claws aren't claws at all- but talons like you might find on a bird. [She drops her hands back into her lap, expression going a little more sad.] My familiar, Amaranth- he's a flywacket. He was with me on Andres while I was there. There wasn't time to go back to find him when we escaped.

[That's right. Klaus was present at Elena's knighting ceremony when Myri and Spike arrived, so he's not entirely in the dark about that whole situation.]

It seems that opportunity may present itself sooner rather than later. [Considering the situation with Elena. Kyp had ties to Andres, after all.] If your friend Amaranth is half as resilient as you've proven yourself to be, I've no doubt that you'll be reunited.

I hope so. He has been with me since I was a child, kept me safe through many troubling times.

Are you originally from this world then? [He was assuming that she wasn't, but if she arrived with her familiar/childhood friend then he could be wrong about that. Or perhaps it was just a fortunate coincidence. Either way, he would like to know more about you, gurl.]

[witchwoman]

[She shakes her head.]

No, but I do have more memories of my life before the Veil than others. I think I remember everything, but...it's hard to say for sure, isn't it? The land I lived in before was called Coronnan, the largest kingdom in Kardia Hodos.

Perhaps you'd be interested in telling me more about it sometime. [If not now, but he wasn't trying to compromise all of her time on this lovely flight in case she wanted to talk to actual friends.] My world wasn't so dissimilar to this one, I'm afraid. [Read: boring as shit, nothing to see here.]

I'll tell you anything you might be curious about- so long as it might be something I would know. In truth, that life feels more like a story than my actual past.
