Strange winds have blown in, bringing on an unusually chill winter in New Zealand. The ground crunches underfoot with snow, the days growing shoter and stars holding court in the darkness reigning above. An unnatural cold permeates the town, and the river's jubilant voice is frozen under the ice. Birds abandon their nests for warmer climes, their songs silenced by winter's grim embrace. But the frozen riverbank now hosts a shimmering respite from the gloomy cold in the form of garish tents, joyful shouts, and sumptuous smells. Vaale's Carnival has come to town.

Gaiety and laughter cut through the cold wind, and even the sky-shy sun peeks its face from around the gathering winter clouds. Children squeal with delight and gasp in awe at the sights, sounds, and smells of Vaale's Carnival. The Titan's Wheel creaks and groans as a burly lumberjack tests his might wit a hefty spin, a family rushes giggling into the sprawling ice maze to the north, and dozens of happy skaters flit about the rinks atop the frozen river. Carnival dolls are handed to wide-eyed townspeople as prizes and a menagerie of freakish creatures and glowing lights beckons the curious. Garish skirts and scanty veils call others to a different breed of voyeurism altogether. Treats and wonders abound for young and old to enjoy, and for a time, the harsh winter is forgotten in joyful revelry. There's nothing to indicate any sinister going on whatsoever, as the group surveys the happy smiles of the crowd.

[Klaus, meanwhile, is less interested in sudden lesbians as he is Mars' friendly fire injury. You've seen one set of attractive women blood-soaked women making out, you've seen them all. But it doesn't look like Mars is in any real danger of bleeding out, so he opts to use the opportunity to make light of the situation.]

Perhaps it might be best to leave any further up close and personal encounters in my capable hands.

[ Maybe for Klaus but Mars' eyes went a little wide at first when he saw it out of the corner of his eyes... well damn. But Klaus voice pulled him back as he looked down at the sound. It wasn't that serious. ] I knew I should have brought gauze...

Yeah, your right. [ he looked a little embarrassed.] Maybe when we get back you can help me learn to fight when we get back? I feel kind of useless sometimes.

[Um, Bo's nat 20 dex check proves how damn good at this she really is. Her will save was...not nearly as good, and considering her condition, well...this could get awkward for anyone watching.

The succubus easily lifts Lis'sa off the ground, wrapping the smaller girl's legs around her waist, and uses one hand to support her weight (strength 20) before her other hand starts to...wander. Bo's eyes seem to literally glow while this is going on, and a ghostly blue light seems to filter from Lis'sa's mouth into hers.

Feel free to stop her. She didn't roll low enough that she can't stop if someone says something or if her kissing partner doesn't try to disengage. At least her wounds are healing? A simple kiss...wasn't going to do much oops.]

[ lis'sa definitely wasn't expecting bo to hoist her off the ground, but with a 13 strength check, she at least compensates well in terms of tensing her own legs around her so that bo doesn't have to do all the heavy lifting. which is good, because she doesn't actually seem inclined to break away, and bo would catch the tiniest exhalation groaned against her mouth at one point as she completely bombs her own will save. and with a 18 dex check, the fingers of one hand bury in the back of her hair, the other skidding up just under the hem of her shirt to brush against the skin there as she returns the kiss with what seems a lot more like enthusiasm than a sense of duty.

maybe this is a good moment to mention that part of her bloodline includes the fact that she has a incredibly flexible forked tongue. bo sure knows now. ]

The corners of her mouth lift at the sound of that noise, and as she feels Lis'sa's legs tighten around her, it gives her use of both of her hands.

This might get NC-17 indeed. Hungry Bo is hungry.

At least she's not ripping off anyone's clothes, but her fingers are definitely wandering underneath fabric. /gives everyone a show, gives zero fucks]

Were I in the habit of treating women as though they were all courtesans, I might consider as much. I've found that most are insulted by such treatment, however.

[ lis'sa smooths down her shirt, before turning to give kenzi and mars an unimpressed flat stare. she does not, however, address any of their commentary, responding instead to klaus' question. ] I'm sure there's more chaos to be found anywhere on these grounds. Let's pick a direction and strike out.

[ w/e y'all. she just turns and strikes east, along the edge of the frozen lake. their feet squelch through leeches that are still writhing on the ground from the earlier unnatural rain here.

they find themselves back at the 'ice carving contest' - where lined up in rows are impressive blocks of ice, each standing about six feet high. dozens of revelers, including lumberjacks, children, pairs of giddy lovers, and more than one aspiring artist, gather round the blocks with hammers and chisels happily supplied by a pair of bushy-bearded gnomes. as one strong lumberjack chisels into a certain block, a spot check of 15+ can catch blood starting to trickle out of its interior... followed by severed ears, fingers, and worse, dropping to join the ice shavings at the blocks' bases. ] There.

[Congratulations, Kenzi. Klaus is starting to question whether or not you possess the few brain cells he'd credited to you thus far (which wasn't saying much to begin with).

His spot check of 21 means that the severed body parts don't escape his notice though, which should explain his scathing judgment of Kenzi at the moment.]

I doubt they would turn away another willing volunteer. You ought to ask whether or not it's too late for you to participate.
