WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (if you are uncertain if your character would be at the castle for this, ask!)ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || August 1st, 2014, 6:00PM [backdated]
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

how many ladies is too many?
The whole brooding thing probably works better on those who don't take being intimidated (will save 19) as a challenge to be conquered.
a thousand ladies might be verging on too many ladies for me? idk.
Derek Hale doesn't dance.
Buuuuut right now, Derek Hale isn't aware that he doesn't dance, although he knows he either doesn't know or can't remember how to dance. He also knows he's not exactly physically incapable, and it doesn't exactly look hard. He looks back from the dance floor, where his gaze had followed her gesture, to Kate. Smiles, a little, close-mouthed, which makes him seem much less intimidating.
"Do you want to dance?"
Is that an invitation? Probably Derek doesn't know either.
so you can handle like six more then
"Sure, why not?" Kate smiles, bright and easy and confident, and shrugs like it hadn't really occurred to her before his invitation (that was totally an invitation). She finishes her drink with a quick gulp, and the glass gets deposited on the tray of a passing server. "I'm Kate. Nice to meet you." She offers him her freed hand, turned to an angle that could as easily herald a shake as a clasp that will lead him to the dance floor. (Spoiler: it's both.)

"Derek," he replies, letting her lead him out onto the dance floor with significantly more resignation than anyone probably really wants in a dance partner.

"So, you're one of the new squires this month? How'd they find you?"
no subject
"I guess you could say I found them," Derek admits, though he still doesn't really know if that's true. But he'd come to the castle because he wanted to be here, sworn in for the same reason. "I'm not usually a joiner, but Wynn's ideas speak to me. And what else do I have?" He shrugs a little, looking past her to the other dancers, the question obviously rhetorical.

She watches Derek as he answers, out the corner of her eye as he looks past her. "Into saving the world?" she smiles, "It's surprising how many people around here don't actually seem to be interested in that sort of thing. I guess Wynn must get them to come around eventually. So what's your specialty? Brains, brawn, magic?" She's assuming he's muscle for obvious reasons, but it seems polite to ask.
