after-party ♔ september

♬ Jeux d'eau - Ravel
WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (if you are uncertain if your character would be at the castle for this, ask!)ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || September 6th, 2014, 6:00PM
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

[Sam offers his back, giving the other man's a firm shake.]
Sam. Nice to meet you.

I don't know if a few months counts as freshly arrived or not, but there's that. I heard my brother was around, and I came out here to find him. Turns out I like it here enough to stay.

Honestly? I wouldn't even know where to start. For every thing that's exactly the same, there's something different.

Who's to say which one is the real one. If you and I are both real, then they're all real. [But there's some humor in his voice, and he shakes his head.] If I told my brother this story? He'd tell me I must have jumped off the deep end. That or ask me how I got away from a Djinn on my own.

[Max snorts a chuckle.]
I heard some of the worlds only have humans and their electronics, and when they get caught by the Veil and see a magical half-orcs like me driving cars around the town, they would scream and pop their eyes out.
But if your world has Djinn in it, guess you won't have much problems adapting here.

[Not so funny, eh?]
Most people where I'm from don't know that that stuff's out there. It's a little hard to live normally when you know the boogeyman is real.

Ignorance is indeed a bliss. That's why I always live by the motto, "enjoy what you can and only care when you need to care."
[Yeah, he is not exactly the world-saving hero type. If you are interested, he also lives by several other mottoes, such as "kick, don't lockpick," and "eat, sleep, and hit."]
If you think too much about the boogeyman and his victims, you won't get a good night sleep.

Whatever helps you get by.
[It's not his place to tell him otherwise. Sam also prefers the lockpick tbh. And books.]
I think I'm just one of those people that got used to it. Not everyone can.

[How did this turn into a conversation about chicks? Are you Dean, Max?]
Thanks for the tip, I guess.
