On the eve of battle, an impressive array of Knights gathers in the Round Table room of the castle. The usually cavernous room seems tightly packed with this many bodies, and places at the Table are reserved for Wynn, the Section Heads, all those who have had any hand in the Talisman mission, including New York, and Christos, but who's going to argue with him, really. The air buzzes with a mixture of impending dread and on some fronts, excitement. It's hard to deny that there are those in the room who have wanted to make a move on Andres for years.

Wynn waits for the appointed hour, before nodding for the doors to be sealed and calling the meeting to order.

"Before we begin, I'd like to thank each and every one of you, many who have traveled an extensive distance at a moment's notice to join us here today. I understand that many of you have little idea what you have agreed to, but I hope that before the end of this meeting, you will come to understand what we are doing, and why it must be done.

Andres' Isle has been held under the sway of the man who calls himself their "Prime Minister" for nearly a decade. In these ten years, he has turned what was once an idyllic country steeped in tradition into a tightly controlled fascist nation disguised as representative of its people.

Andres is far from the only country to fall to such a fate over the course of history, and it has never been the prerogative of this Knighthood to enforce our own personal vision of some sort of world order onto any nation. We are protectors of justice, and our enemy has always been both that which comes from the darkest depths of Shadow, and intolerance and prejudice that stems from this world.

But Dimitris Sarandis has proven to be an exception, an embodiment of all the ideals we stand against, who has aspired to systematize the kind of violence and hatred that threatens the welfare of countless innocents under his rule. He has used his position to exploit Shadowkind on the island to the point of conducting torturous experiments on them, designed to help him accomplish his goal of forcibly enslaving non-humans, so that they may serve what he sees as the superior race of homo sapiens.

As if this were not enough, Dimitris knows of our existence, and wishes to tear down our organization, understanding that we pose a threat to all he seeks to accomplish. To this end, he has conspired against us, kidnapped members of our organization and subjected them to brutal and vile torture, and attempted to blackmail us through detaining Sir Thomas Bancroft and now Sir Samcelot, into complying with his whims - to leave his regime alone entirely, to turn over our most ancient, powerful artifact, and for me to submit to death at his hand.

Killing Dimitris alone will not stop the system he has created, and will not help free the people of Andres. Most citizens of the country remain innocent, terrified into compliance, or completely ignorant of what Sarandis does behind closed doors. These people deserve our help, and the only way to do so is to show them the evil that lurks at the heart of their government, gain their support in uprooting that evil, and assist them in stabilizing their country thereafter.

To do this, we will need to go beyond the usual parameters of our missions, with a militant, strategic push into the island designed to seize the castle, and take down Sarandis' rule." He pauses there, letting that sink in. "What I will not stand for is a callous attitude towards the innocents who we seek to protect on the Island, during this insurgency. Their safety will be paramount to our operation, and as such, speed is important to what we will be accomplishing. Dimitris expects retaliation, but he also underestimates our tactics. As such, rather than attacking the castle with an army, you will be deployed about the Island in a number of small teams, each with an objective that will help us cut off Dimitris from contact with his supporters, secure Sir Bancroft and Sir Samcelot's safety, free those who are imprisoned, and confront Sarandis, taking the castle in the process.

Details of these individual operations not withstanding, I imagine there are some questions. I open the floor to you to speak."

[She pauses, nodding as she searches the crowd for the familiar faces.]

My mentor is going with me, and one of the knights who brought me in.

Oh, good, I'm glad.

[ He trusts the people he'll be with, but it's always comforting knowing the people beforehand. ]

What about your brother?

[ He imagines her brother must be weighing on her mind heavily right now. Never easy to be separated, and with the circumstances being what they are, that must make it harder. ]

[Yeah, it is. Especially considering the separation comes soon after finding him again, but she's sure that he'll be fine. If nothing else, Hales are survivors.]

Different team, but same job. We get to beat people up, mostly.

Something tells me you'll be good at that.

[ He smiles softly.

And though he hasn't met her brother, he's just as sure he'll be good at it, too. ]

Have you ever done anything like this before, something with this kind of risk?

[ He asks just because he's not a stranger to dangerous situations, having dealt with some crazy things long before joining with the Knights. ]

[She takes a deep breath before shaking her head. She's from before Beacon Hills, before the Darach and the alpha pack and she doesn't have a pack to fight with. This isthe closest thing she's had to that in a very long time.]

Not really. I mean ... there are groups that my family fought with back home, but it was never anything like this.

My family and I had some crazy stuff to deal with back home, it wasn't ever just normal. More...related to magic, though, not like this situation.

[ He folds his arms loosely across his chest, eyes lingering on his mom from across the room before looking away. ]

At least we'll have some interesting stories when we get back, right?

[She smiles a bit at that, before nodding.]

At least there's that.

[She's still not sure how she feels about all this magic stuff, but her wolf still works. As far as she knows, that's all she needs.]

It'll give us something to talk about on those runs.

[ He turns his head to really look at her again, a smile on his lips as well. ]

Definitely. I'll miss those runs, but hopefully we'll all get back here soon and we pick up right where we left off.

[ Musing for a moment, he adds: ]

When we all get back, and there's some free time, I really wanna get out and do something. Get some really good pizza, or burgers and milkshakes or just kind of...get away from the castle for a little bit.

[ Not that he eats that kind of food on a regular basis these days, but there's comfort to be found there, at least for him. Of course, even just seeing movies, or going to a park, or...anything, could be fun for a little while. ]

I don't know if that would be your thing, but I'd love the company. Could be anything, really.

[For normal stuff that friends do? That's definitely Cora's thing. Not that she really has much of an idea of what normal teenagers do beyond "hanging out," whatever that means, but she's willing to give it a try.

And honestly, you had her at burgers and milkshakes.

A smile stretches across her face and she nods.]

Yeah. That sounds like fun.

[ It's been a long time since Henry really had this with anyone, but funny enough, it's easy to fall back into it, to remember what normal is supposed to be. Or, well, close enough anyway. Still, it's a relief when she agrees, just because despite how friendly he likes to think he is, he never really had a lot of friends.

This is nice, this is good. The smile is even better, so he smiles back. ]

That's something else to look forward to, then.

It's been a long time since I had a good milkshake. Kind of craving mint chip, I think. Or peanut butter fudge. What's your favorite flavor? Promise I won't pass judgment, though...you can't really go wrong when it comes to milkshakes anyway.

[She laughs a bit at that, before shaking her head.]

To be honest? I'm not really sure I remember.

[It's been a long, long time since she's had one.]

I think chocolate's a safe bet? But beyond that, it's all kinda hazy.

Chocolate's usually a safe flavor for a lot of things: cookies, cakes, candy.

We'll play it safe before hitting the harder stuff.

[ Not every flavor of ice cream makes a good milkshake, anyway. ]

Maybe we could see a movie, too, if there's anything good playing. I'm kind of embarrassed to admit I can't even remember the last time I saw a movie in an actual theater. With stuff like Netflix, there's not always a point to it. Could be fun, though.

[She shakes her head a bit. Movies are another thing that fell to the wayside after the fire.]

I haven't gone since I was a kid. It might be nice - popcorn and everything.

[ Wow, since she was a kid? This is definitely something they need to fix the moment they have a chance. ]

Movie it is, then. We could make a pretty full day of it with everything we need to pack in.

[ And...well, after everything they're about to go through, they'll have definitely earned it, he thinks. ]

[Definitely agreed there. Cora is all for doing normal teenage things, like a normal teenage girl, even if she might need a little handholding through it. She doesn't remember much of the last six or seven years, but she knows enough to know that being in hiding isn't really conducive to doing things like making friends.]

Well, after this hopefully we'll have a good amount of downtime. And if not, we could probably break it up. Milkshakes here and a movie there?

[Since friends make regular plans, of course.]

[ She has a good point; no need to rush and try to cram everything into one outing. Better to leave the door open for more plans and possible adventures. ]

Yeah, I like that idea. Maybe we'll even find something fun we never thought of before, like...laser tag or glow-in-the-dark miniature golf.

[ Maybe...fun? ]

[Her nose wrinkles a bit.]

Why would they make mini-golf glow in the dark?

Fair question. I'd have to see for myself if it's actually fun, or just...weird.

Anything you ever wanted to try and just never got around to doing yet?

[ Paintball is another one that crosses his mind, just for a fun outdoor thing. But they'll probably have their hands full for a while. ]

[So many things. So, so many things that she probably can't even manage to put into words. So instead, she shrugs.]

A lot, I guess. Things just got complicated.

Well, even with the mission and not really knowing how everything will turn out, I think eventually we'll all get back here, and I'm gonna make sure you get to do some fun, normal things.

[ He smiles softly. At least that's one thing he can do? Since he can't really control anything else, anything with what they're all about to do. ]

[She smiles back, a bit sheepish and shy because she knows he's probably doing it just to be nice, and if she brought it up, Stiles or Abigail would probably do the same thing, but Henry just offers and it makes her feel a bit lighter in a way.]

Sounds like a plan. Now we just have to get through this.

[ While it's somewhat true he'd try to help anyone if he could, he does genuinely like Cora and care about her, so it's important to him if he can help in some way. ]

I will if you will.

[ Sure, he knows that just saying that isn't enough to ensure either of them get through this in one piece, but...he's ever the optimist. ]

[She's all for optimism in the face of a situation like this. She definitely isn't looking to die.]

Deal.

[ Offering her a soft smile, he just says: ]

Come back safe, okay?

[She nods a bit in agreement.]

You too.

[And with that, she'll head off to find the rest of her team and get teleported into the woods for quality time with all kinds of creatures.]
