[ The two groups tasked to deal with the denizens of the Shadow Village arrive on the bank of the river that bisects the capitol city of Andres in half.  The river slopes down from the woods and city around it, meaning that they're afforded a bit of concealment here, unless anyone stood at the top and looked down.  At this hour of the night, however, there's no one around.   Dovan grumbles a bit about 'blasted magic' as they shake off the disorienting sense of vertigo, while Koraith waits for Belle to confirm they've arrived in the right place.  She pats Gold on the arm as she pulls out her phone, and moments later, she nods to the others in confirmation.

The water laps gently nearby against the rocks, and in the distance, a bridge is visible that links the segregated Shadow village with its thatched roof houses, to the city proper, which seems lined with wealthy manor homes.  ]

Really? That sounds pretty perfect, actually. Is she here?

Better tell her to rise and shine: we could use a few extra knights. And directions to this chieftain, Grulk.

[David keeps his focus Anira, not wanting to get off track, even if he's a little thrown by the way Lydia is electing to handle the situation. Sarcasm and demands aren't exactly the way to get people to help you. Regardless, Anira was the mission and if her sister was a knight-errant, that at least gives her a bit of clout with the elves, if nothing else.]

It would be good to speak with her. Even if she doesn't want to be in the fight itself, we could use a few ideas as to where to start.

[ anira nods, and moves towards one of the bedroom doors ] She's in her room, just let me -- [ she pushes open the door, opens her mouth to speak and then balks at what is... apparently a surprising sight in there. ] Nyna?

[ And that is-- quite the eyeful Anira gets there. Maybe two eyefulls. She's welcome. He will just stop the thing that it is he's doing to her sister, and turn towards her. ]

Fuck don't you ever knock?

[ Apparently something important is going on? He looks back to Nyna, and moves off her, rolling away to the side.

[Stiles crit failed a listen check so he has no idea what's going on. How far away are the bedrooms even? Maybe he's just lost in Lydia's eyes. Either way, he's very oblivious to the whole... show going on in the next room.]

Not a bad start, right?

[David, unfortunately for David, does not (listen 19). He takes a few steps forward to try and see what's happening and when he does, he quickly turns around, wishing he could unsee what he just saw.]

I'll, uh. I'll wait in the other room.

[ is that even listen or spot? w/e lydia rolled a 17 plus mods so she's just ... situated over anira's shoulder, staring in at the sight and looking rather judgy about it. wow, that happened. ]

This really isn't the kind of thing that waits for a knock.

[ w h o o p s. nyna looks a little irritated at the interruption, because wow they were good and going there, thanks people. but as she yanks a blanket up, she shouts out the door: ]

By the way, gwethil! I've a man over.

[Haha well now there's no chance of Stiles not catching on. Stepping over towards Lydia, he hooks his hand gently at the crook of her elbow and guides her back.]

Maybe we should give them a minute.

Or maybe they should put clothes on because we're trying to wage a war here.

[ Despite her disgruntled sass, she lets Stiles lead her away, shooting a sour look over her shoulder like gET IT TOGETHER, Y'ALL. ]

[ And back to Nyna because lbh she's the only one he's really interested in right here. ]

[ anira turns around, shielding her eyes with a hand beside them as if she's afraid she's gonna see more, but talking backward over her shoulder as she says, sounding very put out by all this: ]

They're Knights of the Silver Dragon, Nyna. They're here to -- to help stop Sarandis.

[ nyna glances over at matt, and it's impossible to disguise the shift in her reaction, as she straightens up a bit ]




... No, but they just got a lot more interesting.

[David just tosses Lydia a look at that, because they weren't waging war five minutes ago. They aren't their soldiers to order around, and they're not alert and waiting for a fight they didn't know was happening until right then. But again, now isn't the time.

He waits in the entryway, arms crossed in front of his chest and he waits until Nyna and Anira and Nyna's gentleman caller to come into the main area before he speaks.]

We're looking to take down Sarandis. Your sister said you might know a few places to start in getting some fighters on our side.

[ The 'friend' is kind of not the happiest he's ever been. Probably because he was kind of enjoying himself there. But still, he's managed to put on a pair of jeans, at least. So it's something? What he does do though is give this band of misfits a bit of a look. Because really? Except David. A+ on looking the part, David. ]

Let me get this straight. You guys think you're going to stop Sarandis?

[ Her lips purse considerably, and she flips her hair over her shoulder, fixing Matt with a sharp look that borders on absolutely venomous (diplomacy 30 so she's looking pretty legit rn). ]

We're gonna kill him. That's why we brought the cavalry.

[ Presumably, anyway. ]

[David is eyeing Matt in a confused manner, because he lived in Greece for a while and he's pretty sure that Matt is just appreciating the fact that he looks like he knows what he's doing but ... they did that in Greece too (wisdom 20 total). Regardless, he keeps focus on the matter at hand.]

We aren't the only ones here. We're the members of the team here charged with protecting this village. Right now, we're just trying to get as much help from the people here as I can, and to get those who can't fight out.

You're saying you brought an army? [ her eyes light up at the prospect, and she practically forgets she's just wearing a blanket, getting up out of the bed and holding it up around her with one hand. ]

Of course we brought an army. You didn't honestly think we came to depose a dictator with three Knights, did you?

We're part of the team to try to get some support from this area of the island. There's more, though- all over.

[But Stiles crit failed his will save, so he basically says all of that while staring at her chest, as if looking long enough might caught the sheet to fall away. Ahem.]

[And for some reason, in the Hall of Fame of most useless nat 20s ever, David clocks that and nudges Stiles in the ribs gently to get his eyes back to eye level.]

The more help you can give us the better, but we intend to try and protect as many people as we can.

There's going to be plenty of people too afraid to stand up to him. But I know a few who are itching for the chance to make a real difference.

We're going to want to start with getting those people out. Is there a place where we can get everyone together and get organized? You guys would know the city better than we do - you'd know the best way to defend it.
