The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Killian Jones has shed the pirate clothes for something a little more stylish (disguise 17), a new style to go with his new hand. He's scoping out the room, but his eyes keep landing on two specific people. Snow White and the Evil Queen.

He'll go up to them eventually. He just has to figure out the right approach first.]

[ Emma approaches Hook carefully after he's disengaged from his conversation with Regina, and she's done pretty well for herself. Her arms fold over her chest, hands settling at her elbows, to betray her sense of unease in the ballroom as she hedges just behind his shoulder. ]

What'd she say?

[Hook pauses to take in the sight of Emma, momentarily caught off guard by how beautiful she is.]

You look ravishing.

[A beat as his brain catches up and he processes her question.]

...she didn't say that.

Yeah. Thanks. I figured.

[ A look of really Hook did that need to be clarified. Which is 90% used to just brush right over the compliment so that she doesn't have to acknowledge it because lakegjsl. Her eyebrows raise with a sense of urgency like ok so more to the point of answering my questions ??? ]

[He sighs and glances back towards Regina.] She doesn't remember very much at all. Certainly not Storybrooke.

Yeah, I got that from the ball gown.

[ But conveniently missed … seeing them dancing together. Because otherwise her reaction would have been so different. GOT DISTRACTED WITH OTHER PEOPLE, OK. ]

She didn't recognize me at all. I don't think she knew Mary Margaret, either. At least not before she decided to squire her.

She doesn't seem to remember anyone as far as I can tell. Not even her own mother.

[Do you know who is here but avoiding pretty much everyone she normally would be chatting? Faye. So upon spotting Hook, she finds something very interesting on the other side of the room.

This tag mainly exists to give you the opportunity to yell at her for being mean to Emma if you want. But if not, just bask in the teenage avoidance that's going on around you all night.]

[She turns towards him, drink in hand and just stares.]

Not alienating the people who love me, that's what. [Yeah we're just getting right into it. He stares at her.] What did you do to Emma?

I didn't do anything to her. I didn't like her tone. I didn't like her always trying to get in my business. Funny how you're not jumping to my side. So it doesn't really matter what I say, right? I hurt Emma's feelings so obviously I'm the villain here.

She sees you like family, Faye. Of course she's in your business. [He ignores her complaints about obviously being the villain and how he's not taking her side. That's not the point.] What business was she getting in, then, that it bothered you this much?

My business- or was I not clear about that? [She sneers, giving him a dangerous look that he should back the fuck up.

And gets a nat 20 on her intimidation check. Oh.]

[Ahahahaha Hook rolled a... 7 will save. He steps back, eyes widening with an actual edge of fear. But he doesn't let himself leave. She may be scary, but she's also family, and that means he's not going to run from her.]

Don't do this, Faye. I don't know what's wrong with you, but this isn't going to help.
