Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

The Knight's new section head, Wynn, and their mentor Knight wait up at the front of the room for their approach, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

That's the one. [ completely not bothered by the face. so used to the face. ] My little squire is all grown up and saving Andres.

Mentor. [doesn't let her misstep, ok.]

[ she thinks about it for a moment. ] Both.

[So chatty. Very impressed. Felicity will saunter her way over at some point, drink in hand, taking a break from the rest of the room. When she glances over, there's a quick once over before she breaks the ice.]

Words with Friends? Or is it that drawing one that I'm completely terrible at.

Neither. [he glances up at her like wow gurl your taste in games is so 2012.] Bubble Witch.

[She doesn't play games on her phone a lot. Because she totally crit failed knowing what that is.]

[There's a beat as she shrugs.]

I thought you guys were supposed to be the social ones. [ vi, looking like she put in as much effort, comes up with a smile. ] You're not dead. Well done.

[ambitionist]

Thanks. [he makes lila's fave face at vi.] And as far as I know, I'm not getting paid to be at this party, so I can be as antisocial as I want.

Sweetie, you get paid to breathe in this castle. [ but she shrugs like whatever frosts your cupcake. ] Shouldn't you be a little more excited about being promoted?

I tend to keep my excitement inside.

[flatly:] Yayyy. [and then, after that unimpressive attempt at enthusiasm, he decides to explain himself with — ] I'm Russian, I dunno what you want from me.

[ she snorts, because apparently his failed enthusiasm is amusing to her. she knows he has it in him and she doesn't much care that he's unwilling to show it. ]

Well, to make up for your hella fail, why don't you let me buy you a drink? This is one of those times it's the thought that counts, for the record.

You know the drinks here are free, right?
