slovechnia ♔ hey little sister what have you done

♬ White Wedding - Billy Idol
WHO || Failboat, Dimitris Sarandis, Amanda Moulet, invited wedding guests, and more [closed]
WHAT || The Knights head to Slovechnia to interrupt Dimitris' wedding to Dumage's sister
WHERE || Flight from London to Slovechnia; Slovechnia
WHEN || Sometime in February
HOW || Actionspam or prose
The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.
Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

That was a fine display of stabbing, lady. [he raises one of his bottles in a mock toast.]
no subject
And couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. [Looking over the bottles in his hands.] Got any whiskey in that lot or did Archer get to it first?
no subject
no subject
And no casualties on our side. [Wrinkles creasing the corners of her eyes as she takes a swig from the dainty bottle of whiskey.] Somehow. I thought we were done for before we really started.
no subject
[said the guy who uses a le mat. to be fair, that thing's nine bullets of fucked up.] We were not gonna get our asses murdered because of the local police, a few thugs, and a handful of racists. And, anyway, you died once. You've filled your quota, young lady. No more of that.
no subject
I'm just glad Dimitris didn't get away this time. That man was like a cockroach during an apocalypse. [How many times did they try to take him out and he just kept coming back for more?!] Now he's a very crispy one. [A beat.] With a gaping hole in his chest.
[If this is the part where Rose is supposed to feel bad or at least, haunted over that brutal hit... she missed the memo, clearly.]
Twice. [Srsly Rose.] One more time and I get a gold membership to the afterlife of my choosing. [Grinning wryly.] Don't worry. Not chasing that VIP pass.
[Even though she sure did just. Get stabbed by jumping in front of a blade.]
no subject
Mm. That's right. It has been twice. [he chuckles, the sound a bit strained, but he brushes it off.] You keep trying to be Kevin Costner like that, and I'm gonna call your bluff.
no subject
What's a Kevin Costner? [Know PC: Crit Fail.]

Are there a lot of fight scenes? Cause I could be down with that.
[It'll all be fun and games until Whitney starts singing and then Rose will yell at Des for tricking her into watching a musical rom-drama.
Getting the reference now at least.]
And that wasn't a deathwish. More like, a habit.
no subject
That I get. I can't believe that rat bastard was slimy enough to try that shit once he was down, but you must've had a hunch.
no subject
Just... a feeling? [Looking to Des.] It's like what Wynn said. We have honor where Dimitris d- didn't. [Catching herself before using present tense.] Men like him. They don't care about what's fair or decent. They'll lie and cheat and break every rule in the book just to get ahead. [She shakes her head.] I thought he might try and attack Alainn during the duel to shake Mark.
[And she's sure it would have worked as well because if she'd been the one fighting and somebody had gone for Dean? Rose would have lost control. Started fighting with anger instead of measured strikes.]
That he tried to stab her in the back? Yeah... That's exactly the sort of thing I'd expect from a man like him. [She pauses a moment, then adds.] It was worth getting stabbed just to see the look on his face when he saw me.
no subject
[And Sarandis would have given nastier, if he'd somehow lived. Maybe he didn't know about Alainn until this moment, but if he had left with the knowledge, that girl would have suffered for it.] You did them both a big favor in about ten different ways.
no subject
I hope so. [That it was enough for Mark to beat him in the Duel. That it can provide them both some measure of peace and as she looks further up the plane to see Kat, a smile actually touches her lips. Rose seeming more sure now about what had happened.]
Mark did all the work. I just made sure that asshole didn't get to have the last word.
no subject
[Yeah, Mark did all the work, but Rose still finished him off and in as elegant a way as one can. Not about glory or about stealing the kill or about taking back the night for a variety of people harmed, but because she'd anticipated Dimitris being an honorless snake and was ready for it.
In the end, the bastard's end hadn't come about because any one person "deserved" the kill, but because of protecting Mark and those Mark loves. In the end, it was still about Andres. About Thomas. Rose may have been a name on a list of people who owed Dimitris pain, but she hadn't made it about her.
Really, he can turn around and apply it to Decker, too, for all that he wanted that kill, to take the life of someone who played so carelessly with Jade's. He's as satisifed as can be that what done him in was the willpower and resolve of a girl- the very same things he clearly found cause to have Jade killed over.] Either way, that chapter's done.
no subject
His words do however, give her reason for pause. Not for Mark or Alainn. Not even for her actions but rather the way she feels right now.]
I wonder what that says about me... [It's not self-loathing but perhaps, a sincere curiosity. She's heard Dean say it numerous times in the past. That people think he's nothing more than a killer. A blunt instrument. Here she is, sitting on a plane, still covered in the now dry blood like it's almost normal. She can't help but wonder, if after seeing her drive a stake right through Dimitris' chest without a hint of remorse, if maybe that's how people here see her now.
More than that? She's not sure she cares if they do.]
no subject
It's not cowardice to not want to kill, but it also doesn't make you a monster to want to when the bastards have it coming. Being a monster means not having any compassion at all, and believe you me, if I hate someone enough to want to kill 'em? It's because I felt compassion for something they hurt, even if I don't feel it for them.
no subject
I'm not sorry he's dead but I didn't do it thinking, I want to kill him, ya know? He made a choice and I responded. I figure if he didn't want to deal with the consequences, then he should have made better choices.
[Deep down, she knows that shows how much she's changed over the past few years. Rose has always been willing to do what had to be done, but she at least would feel something about it afterwards. It's like all they see and do has slowly been hardening her and while a part of her thinks that should worry her? It just... doesn't. Maybe recognizing the change and questioning why she doesn't care is enough. Maybe the fact that Dimitris blew her up is helping her to give no fucks.]
Besides... I got enough crap to worry about without losing any sleep over that man.
no subject
He sighs and rests his head against the back of the seat, staring at the ceiling.]
I think we've all got enough bullshit in our lives without staying up nights worrying about what we've had to do.
no subject
Yeah... [Sighing as well, her body language mimics Des, Rose however staring at the backs of heads again. Like she'll find some impossible answer in doing so.] Or what we'll still have to do.
no subject
[he closes his eyes somberly.] Just what you can't live without.
no subject
Maybe. Deep down. She would grudgingly admit. She was a little bit of a romantic.]
So are you headed back to New York as soon as we get back?
no subject
no subject
I realize we're a lot to take in, but you could have Zarad come out here some time.
no subject
[all joking aside...] When this is all over, maybe. Right now, I just can't be too careful. It'd be one thing if he was all over being a part of this, but he can't.
Don't get me wrong, he loves everyone he's met, but nightmare gods and psions and near constant death are a little more than he feels comfortable inserting himself into. And you know how it goes- you dip your toe in, and then suddenly you're drowning.
