slovechnia ♔ hey little sister what have you done

♬ White Wedding - Billy Idol
WHO || Failboat, Dimitris Sarandis, Amanda Moulet, invited wedding guests, and more [closed]
WHAT || The Knights head to Slovechnia to interrupt Dimitris' wedding to Dumage's sister
WHERE || Flight from London to Slovechnia; Slovechnia
WHEN || Sometime in February
HOW || Actionspam or prose
The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.
Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

Maybe. Deep down. She would grudgingly admit. She was a little bit of a romantic.]
So are you headed back to New York as soon as we get back?

I realize we're a lot to take in, but you could have Zarad come out here some time.

[all joking aside...] When this is all over, maybe. Right now, I just can't be too careful. It'd be one thing if he was all over being a part of this, but he can't.
Don't get me wrong, he loves everyone he's met, but nightmare gods and psions and near constant death are a little more than he feels comfortable inserting himself into. And you know how it goes- you dip your toe in, and then suddenly you're drowning.

[Rose has lost count of how many times somebody has said to her that her boyfriend is 'fucking hot'. No but really. For somebody with as many violent tendencies as she has? It's a good thing she's secure in her relationship.]
Well I'm not saying you should have brought him as your plus one to The Red Wedding... [Never have I been so pleased that Rose & Dean watch GoT.] But you know. I've never actually met the guy so you should consider a weekend in London.
[She lifts her shoulder in a shrug.] Maybe getting to know the people who have your back will stop him from worrying so much while you're gone.
[Which makes her sound really thoughtful... until she adds.] That and I'm just really curious okay.
no subject
I got over it after awhile. Turns out, he knew what he was getting into, and was fine with it.
[but he laughs at that last bit.] I'll work on it, all right? Just to ease your curiosity.
no subject
I'll let you in on a secret? [Leaning in a little like... it's actually a secret?!] I bet you he's the one who thinks he's the lucky one.
[Looking pleased at that.] Good. Cause if I hadn't seen him back at Vi and Luthir's wedding, I'd be starting to think he wasn't real.
no subject
[another chuckle, as he pulls back, a hand reaching up to rub at his jawline.] I wasn't sure you actually did see him. Never did keep track of who all was at that wedding.
no subject
Just from across the room. I was only there cause... [Well this conversation sure got depressing in a hurry.] Luthir.
[And Elena but Rose isn't about to mention that. One pain inducing memory being discussed is enough thanks kids.]
no subject
Crazy, innit? That's the second time in the last hour or so I've thought about Vi's wedding.
[it's not even relevant to what's going on. nothing that came during or after was Dimitris' doing, beyond Elena's reasons for breaking Kyp out.] Not the best topic in the world to keep coming up, all things considered, but I guess it was a cornerstone for a lot of things.
The second time in this mission where everything changed... And this'll be the third.
no subject
For Rose it's hard to untangle everything that happened at that particular cornerstone. That wedding would be the last time she'd be happy for a long time. The last day of being the person she thought she was before everything got turned on its head. She'd been with somebody she loved, who loved her in return. Had a best friend she would have done anything for. Had a person in her life who she looked up to. Respected.
For a long time she thought she'd never have any of that again but she thought about Dean. About Alainn. About Wynn. Rose hated Sweets for suggesting that all the good she had in her life, came about because of what had happened after Vi and Luthir's wedding but as painful as it is to admit? He wasn't entirely wrong.]
Painful or not... I think we have to remember those times so we know what to be grateful for now. Why we're fighting. [And for other reasons, but she keeps those to herself.] At least this time around, it feels like we're gaining ground.

Elena and I... [Hesitation as she starts to speak.] We were best friends. We used to talk. A lot... about, everything.
[She looks at him now, hoping he understands the significance of her words. That she's heard about Jade. About her significance to him.]
I think you can be grateful for what you have as a result of the bad stuff and still wish deep down that the bad stuff hadn't happened. Even if you wouldn't change it.
[She would rather not have lost Dimitri, Elena and Luthir the way that she had. But she had Dean, Alainn, Wynn and so much more and she knows, she's better for what happened. Albeit, a little jaded.]
no subject
[He looks sympathetically at Rose.] It doesn't always help.
no subject
Nope. It doesn't. [A weak smile that's tinged with sadness, dancing across Rose's lips and she shifts her free hand to cover Des's. A quick squeeze. A quiet moment of understanding without the need for words.]
But hey. At least we're going home. [The silver lining in it always being that they both had something good to go home to. Not everyone here could say that.]

She can talk like an optimist when she wants to but it's clear Rose is already bracing for the next disaster. (Will Save 15).]
Maybe I should take Mark up on that trip to Andres.

Given their looming apocalypse though? She's probably not wrong.]
Plus it would be good to get away. See Alainn, just... I don't know. [Shaking her head.] I mean, it works for you, right?

[he shrugs] When a bad guy has his heart set on you personally, you'll know, so Blade, Crombe? Those guys? I don't worry about them when I'm not dealing with them.
no subject
Lets just hope it stays that way. [Her face darkening.] Gotta wonder how much blowback there will be for what happened today... They might not have been happy with Dimitris but we still took out three of their people. [She looks to Des now, trying to keep the worry for him from her features but he's Des and he tends to see right through her. (WS 25).] Just... be careful, alright? Don't drop your guard too much when you go back home and at the first sign of trouble? Crappy weather aside, London does have the benefit of being full of people who will have your back. That husband of yours too.
no subject
[it's optimism that's not entirely like him, but he seems to believe it, anyway. he definitely doesn't miss her concern for him (sense motive 31), which seems to blindside him a little.]
I never drop my guard. I've got people who could come after me who aren't part of this little Glee Club. [instinctively, he looks down at his bag where the hilt of his sword is poking out of the top and he glances away abruptly.] Which I guess doesn't help you any. [he gives her a weak smile.] I'll be fine. I'm a survivor. It's the one thing I've been consistently good at my whole life, despite everything I ever did to try and do the opposite. And Zarad... [he laughs.] Well, he's got a few tricks up his sleeve.
[He holds up a hand.] But if anything gets too hot for us to handle, we'll be out of Dodge. Promise.
no subject
His words unsurprisingly, do very little to banish the worry that's stirring behind her eyes. At least not until that promise, when Rose manages a weak yet sincere smile of her own.]
That's all I wanted to hear. [The hand that still covers his, gives it a quick squeeze before she pulls it away, Rose never one to linger too long on emotional moments and she does seem to relax a little, even if there's tension still running through her shoulders. It seems Des isn't the only one around here who doesn't drop his guard.]
Plus if you don't I'll just have to find you and kick your ass. [The widening of her grin at least suggesting she's kidding. Probably. Mostly anyway.]
