The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[The bond made it so that the throat clearing really wasn't necessary, Rose was just secretly hoping that Lissa would go elsewhere... Or, maybe, just maybe she was secretly hoping they could talk. With Rose it was usually six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Sidestepping out of the way, her eyes moved to the blond then back to the people mingling, doing her best to seem unfazed by the run-in.]

You might want to avoid the stuff that looks like chicken... [Nose wrinkling even before she says it.] Turns out sweetbread is rich people for 'so you wanna be a cannibal'.

[See?! She was giving advice... It was, a start.]

I think that unless I've secretly turned into livestock -- [ she looks down like she's checking, nope, still a girl ] -- sweetbread just makes me a carnivore. [ a beat, as she plucks up a mini shepard's pie. ] But thank you.

[ and because this is far too awkward and she would like it to be over, already, ] Have you spoken more to Sir Hasmed about breaking the bond?

[It was undoubtedly well meant but Rose and being corrected? Her eyes hardened, shoulders tensing as her jaw locked in place.]

Thanks so much for the education. [Glowering a little, Rose immediately regretting her attempt to speak to her.]

No, but I'll be sure to find out where he's at with it.

Not that she'd kept that up, only when she was particularly bothered by it but drinking every time you wanted to be alone with your thoughts only made for more muddled thoughts.]

[ lissa only just manages to bite back a sigh (will save 14). yes that is so very helpful to their cause. meanwhile she's been trying (and failing) not to use magic and teaching herself to defend herself without it and contemplating going back to anti-depressants, all for rose's benefit. because she didn't want to, she hated the feeling of not being able to access her magic, but she didn't want it to hurt rose, so of course she would thinks about it. dimitri was wrong though, talking about it was never going to help. rose would never listen.

but instead of saying any of that out loud, she nods shortly. ] Enjoy yourself. [ and she turns to leave, heading toward wynn. that was... enlightening. ]
