The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[David doesn't recognize her at first (wisdom 11). It's not like she's been here, and her hair was brown at the time, but there's something about her face that bugs him.

Not in a bad way, just in an "I'm supposed to know you" kind of way, so eventually he sucks it up and pulls himself out of his lurker corner to go talk to her.]

You were at my squiring, weren't you?

[She looks him over, as if searching her memory.] ... Perhaps so, yes. It has been some time since I've had occasion to return to the castle. [She grants him a small smile.] I'm afraid I've forgotten your name.

[He shakes his head, as though he doesn't mind. He forgets names too. He forgot the people he was squired with.]

Myri. I suppose now we get to meet all over again, at least.

I guess we do. Hopefully this time I can make a better first impression.

[She smiles slightly, something in his words seeming to amuse her.] I think your impression was just fine. Perhaps it's merely my memory that needs work.

[He shrugs slightly.]

I don't mind starting over.

Wonderful. Because I'd love to hear your stories about this place.

[He's not so good at the stories. Someone else in the group was the minstrel, way back when.]

I'm not sure mine would be interesting.

[He pauses as he considers.]

[He drums his fingers against his leg for a moment before holding up a finger.]

A group of us got to be pirates for a bit.

[He smirks a bit.]

No, but we did get to rescue a lot of people.
