[So the kitchen is one of the few areas in the castle where Cora will willingly go without prompting. It's the food. After months of not awesome meals, the food here is actually fresh and good, and she loves shoving her face in it, more or less.

She's currently siting cross-legged at the counter, working her way through a nice hefty sandwich when Vi storms in like a woman on a mission. She watches as the other woman tears into a carton of ice cream, and at first she may have thought that was a little odd, but a deep breath confirms that there's more to it than that (wisdom 16).

Oh.

... She still doesn't say anything though, just sort of watches her as she systematically tries to sooth her anger with ice cream.]

[ om nom nom. ice cream, you're so nice. so kind. and fattening. you don't talk back. you just soothe her frayed nerves. thank god she's not lactose intolerant, ice cream is the only reason she's not vegan.

out of nowhere, she points a spoon at cora. ] Men suck.

[Oh. It's a guy thing? Confused teenage werewolf is confused, but she'll try not to read too much into it. Obviously the guy who got her pregnant is the one who sucked. Maybe they're fighting or something.]

Duly noted.

[Cora's found that most people suck, so men sucking isn't exactly news.]

Seriously. Just be gay and be done with it. [ ladies can't knock other ladies up. ITS SCIENCE, BITCH. ]

[Her brow furrows for a moment because ... yeah, she's not sure about that at all.]

I don't really think that's a choice.

[But if it is, she would totally just be gay.]

Shh with your logic. [ she is not here for logic. she is here for irrational emotions and ice cream. which... speaking of. she motions to the gallon. ] Want some?

[Sorry. She will take her logic and keep it to herself. But with the ice cream offer, she shakes her head.]

You seem like you need it more than I do.

You're a gem, little brunette person. [ no, let's not call her that. ] What's your name? You're giving me Surly vibes.

[ surly... ofc... is derek. it's mostly just the lack of loquaciousness. as if vi can't babble enough for all of them. ]

[She misses the capital "S" on that Surly, and just assumes she means the adjective which ... isn't inaccurate either.]

Cora.

[She won't comment on whether or not she's surly.]

[ she's definitely surly, that is for damn sure. ] Vi. Only a part time lesbian, so you know, don't let my bitterness put you off the whole thing.

[Her eyebrows rise a bit at that as she takes another bite of her sandwich.]

How's that working out for you?

[Not that she really wants to know, but maybe soliciting it will feel less awkward than it being babbled at her.]

Not well. [ she pouts a little, but moves on. ] You're new, I take it? You look new and you're too young to have been here while I was gone, some I'm going with new.

[She nods a bit.]

Sort of. I'm not a squire.

What are you then? [ /blunt. ]

A squatter.

[Equally blunt. They should get along well.]

[ she snorts in faint amusement. ] Testing the waters?

Something like that.

[She gives a bit of a shrug.]

I'm not exactly a joiner.

Lone wolf kind of thing or don't play well with others kind of thing, because if it's the latter... you clearly haven't met Lan, yet.

[There's a slow hint of a smirk at the "lone wolf" comment.]

Little of both, actually.

Lan is your poster child then. He comes with a noble steed, it's very dramatic. [ she likes lan so it's said with some fondness. ]

[She pauses as she thinks.]

The guy with the cabin in the woods?

Ayup, that would be the one. Have you met our elusive knight, then?

[She shakes her head.]

Mostly just seen him around. I don't think his cabin is that far from my campsite.

Oh, so you must be hanging out with Gus. [ a beat. ] I grow his weed for him.

[Ah yes. Her nose wrinkles just slightly, because while the bonus side of weed being weed is that she actually gets a contact high when he's smoking it - inhaling it means it goes right into her bloodstream rather than having to pass through her system like most other drugs - the smell is still stronger than most.

And she doesn't exactly like the high either. Too much of a control freak for that.]

Yeah. He's a good guy.
