[ New and unfamiliar places don't really bother Henry, in fact he kind of thrives on the thrill of the unknown. He hasn't been here very long at all, which means there's a lot to learn while he gets his bearings. He hasn't been sworn in yet, but that doesn't mean he can't be productive.

Never the type to be idle, he'll be exploring the castle, the castle grounds, and probably spending way too much time in the library, studying a lot of the different book titles more than actually reading anything for now. ]

[You know what's weird? Coming into one of the smaller rooms to find a tiny woman with pointy ears and a thick grey cloak sitting on a stack of books in the library with a book balanced on the table. She's very clearly not human.

There's an image of a knife with curvy blade on the cover, and she's frowning intensely, muttering to herself.

It gets a little weirder when a thick mist starts creeping into the area, filling the whole room.

The girl starts coughing and drops the book, but at this point, Henry can't really see her. Whoops. Mission accomplished?]

[ He's only managed to catch a fleeting glimpse of her before the mist obscures everything completely. So, he's not sure what he saw, really, but he wants to find out. ]

Hey, you okay?

[ Is...he? The mist seems harmless, just kind of annoying and intrusive, but he's wary nonetheless, given his past. ]

Fine! Fine! Don't worry about it!

[The voice sounds downright gleeful.]

It worked!

[ Well, that's interesting. ]

Oh. Mission accomplished?

[ Should he congratulate her? He just doesn't know, since...he's kind of stuck here for a moment, and it's a little weird. ]

[The mist starts dissipating pretty quickly, leaving a beaming Taradiddle standing on her chair.]

Anyway, I'm Taradiddle. Who are you?

[ If nothing else, her enthusiasm is endearing, and a little bit adorable. So, there's a half-smile on his face. ]

Henry.

That was pretty cool, that...mist stuff.

You thought so? [She beams, slipping off the chair and oh yeah she's tiny. Like three feet tall.] It's not a spell I've used much, but it's pretty cool, right?

Yeah, I mean...I couldn't do something like that.

[ Well. That he knows of. Maybe with practice.

And then he is...well, a little surprised by just how small she is, though he doesn't react much, just smiles. ]

Cool and useful. Think what you could do with it if someone was trying to hurt you.

Oh, sure you can. If you devote yourself to a deity and join up with a temple, they show you how! Easy! I can heal people too.

[ Have a cheeky grin. ]

You can heal people? Like...no matter? Any kind of injury?

Yep, any injury at all! I'm that good. [Bluff 23. She'll be that good someday, but she's not there yet. She has to level up a few times first.]

[ He's impressed, that's obvious in his expression. ]

So...you learned the healing thing at the temple?

[ the library, you say????

the librarian comes up beside him to shelve a few books and offers him a gentle smile, once she notices that he's browsing. ] Hard to know where to start, isn't it?

[ He's just shoving a book back into its rightful spot when a voice appears beside him. He starts to answer, just agreeing with her, but then he turns to look at her, and...kind of stops abruptly, clearing his throat. Well. This is not someone he'd ever expected to see again. A soft smile appears on his face, and he takes a deep, slightly shaky breath. ]

Yeah, it is. Any recommendations? [ Another deep breath. ] I'm Henry, by the way.

I'm Belle. It's nice to meet you, Henry. [ and she'll extend a hand like a dork ] And I suppose that would depend on what you're interested in.

[ An easy smile remains on his face, and he shakes her hand in return. ] Nice to meet you, too. [ How much does she remember, he wonders. ] I'm pretty open-minded, I'll try anything if I trust the person recommending it. I guess right now I'm kind of into finding a good mystery novel, something...thrilling.

Well, I certainly hope I can earn your trust then. A realistic sort of mystery, or something fantastical?

Have you actually read any Sherlock Holmes? Most people here claim to have 'seen the movies' now, but I've found the stories quite thrilling.

You know, I always meant to, just...never got around to it. Do you have a favorite, of all the stories?

I do love "A Scandal in Bohemia".

What about..."The Hound of the Baskervilles"? I think that's the one I've always heard the most about.

[While he's been to the castle library before, Chris is still amazed at the size of it. It was enormous at least to him. So much so that Chris tripped over a fallen book and though he wasn't injured, the same couldn't be said for his pride. He pulled himself up when he saw the other person.]

"I'm sorry about that. My fault really, I should have been paying more attention."

[ Henry isn't the type to laugh at someone possibly hurting themselves, so he frowns just slightly. ]
