The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Sweets is dressed up in his usual suit (disguise 14), and he's more than happy to listen as she sings, and is one of the people applauding when she's done.

(Or maybe he's the only one. That was good, so he shouldn't be, but even if he is the only one, he's still applauding.)

He'll give her a moment before he comes over himself, however, letting her collect herself before he compliments her performance.]

[Cora is starting to get the hang of this formal dress thing (disguise 11). She's not looking like the most gorgeous thing in the room, but she looks passable, which is the important thing. She's not exactly looking to stand out from the crowd. A sleeveless dress was also probably not the best idea considering she's still sporting some of the bruises from getting thrown by a fifteen foot giant candy golem in her mission the day before, but she hadn't thought that far ahead.

(She could have had a cleric heal her, but Lydia and Sydney needed it more than she did. She isn't going to have them waste spells on bruises. She'll be fine.)

She will, however, eat her weight in finger foods if you let her.

She's not the most fond of the squiring parties, but for some reason she keeps having a reason to come back again. If she really wanted to avoid them, she should probably stop making friends, but since she isn't inclined to do that anytime soon, she's made an appearance. She's planning on saying hello to Thea, see if there's anyone else she knows around,and then wander her way back out again.

Easy. In and out. Feel free to make her stay longer if you like.]

[Cora is mostly here to say hello to Thea and then bail. There are bruises on her shoulders and arms, but they're healing and she's pretty sure they're not that noticeable in the low light.

(She severely underestimates human eyesight.)

Regardless, when she approaches Thea, it's with a smile. Until she notices the aggressive champagne consumption and her eyebrows go up.]

Not at all. People express themselves different ways. I'm sure you're not the first singing knight that Wynn has seen, and you probably won't be the last.

[WELL RAFAEL GIOVANNI GOT REJECTED, SO MAYBE... but no. she's kidding and she giggles a bit.] I'm sure everyone's wondering what exactly I'm bringing to the table besides a good set of pipes. Keeps them guessing.

Faye watches the performance from the back of the ballroom, drinking heavily throughout, because she may need to be hammered for the entire length of this bitch's squiring.

It's like she's being punished. Wynn hated her. She was positive of that now.

Watching the woman leave once her song was finished, Faye debated just... leaving the party, but she's got to do this mentor thing sooner or later, right? With a heavy sigh, she takes a fresh drink and heads outside to meet her songbird of a squire.]

That was... something... [Her face basically shows exactly how not on board she is for the musical portion of the evening.]

It was... probably too much. I know. I just didn't know how to thank everyone any other way.

[ Alec can actually dress himself pretty well with a disguise check of 21 all together and a 24 for the ladies. He's doing his best to blend in and make himself approachable. It's pretty damn easy when you're trained to blend. He might as well start in on the alcohol. One thing he can do is drink with the best of them. ]

[Andrew is here because he got a new squire in this batch- the blonde one with the glasses. He's sure she's somewhere. Stopping off for a drink, he spots Alec and gives a small salute with his beer.]

Get used to these. [He gestures out at the rest of the ballroom.] Have one every month lately. [It used to be less frequent. Not that Andrew minds. He's actually enjoying the squiring parties these days, which is... weird as fuck for him, but he tries not to worry about it.]

[Malina sort of squinted at him from a distance for a while, mostly because when she signed up to take on another squire, a younger, prettier version of a guy she met at the last one is not what she had in mind. She wasn't quite sure that her mind wasn't playing tricks on her but she had been at the squiring ceremony and she's pretty sure Wynn wouldn't let a second actual doppelganger into the castle, let alone allow him to take the face of another knight.

She's a bit more subdued (disguise 16) than normal, given that she's technically working and partying at the same time, but he can still make out the tattoos on her arms. She's also shorter than him, even in heels, but she tends to make up for that in presence more than anything else.]

Alec, right? I'm Malina Harvey. I'm going to be mentoring you.

[that gets her to look up, face still an unfortunate shade of scarlet. despite the whole FAYE IS SCURRY thing, she reaches out and grabs her hand to shake it.]

Standing at the bar with two drinks and a shot in front of her, Kenzi (Who looks slammin btw; Disguise 25), hands one of the drinks off to Alec without even looking at him.]

Hold that - [It's like the alcoholic version of 'hold my purse', as she gathers her other drink and downs the shot with her other hand before bothering to acknowledge his existence as anything other than her drink bitch.]

Hmmm. I love the smell of newbie in the evening. [Reaching to take her drink back.]

[ you know who doesn't think much of his blending? kali. (disguise 17) she keeps to herself mostly, but after stalking him like prey for a while she abruptly steps up in front of him, nose wriggling like a bunny, lips pressed into a line. ]

[Felicity is rocking her disguise check of 18. Her red dress is a familiar one. Let's be real, she probably saw it in a shop one day and wanted it in her closet again. Not that she ever thought she'd have a chance to wear it. There aren't that many parties that they have to stealth their way into these days. And this one she's actually invited to. There's no chance of her getting an explosive collar at this party either.
