Well, that's true, but it also doesn't have the best grain - and it's full of knots. We could find ye some better choices.

Are knots bad? [ she kind of likes them a little, they have character. but if they make the wood less quality then she doesn't want it. ]

They weaken the wood strength and can make for more cracks.
