I wasn't angry. [ she only has enough room for two emotions, tbh, and one of them is always confusion. she dips back under the car to finish was she was doing, but she keeps talking, expecting him to stick around, i guess. ]

Me? Nah. I used to have anger issues when I was a kid, but I just took up hockey.

[ there is the sound of fiddling, metal on metal, as she does something or other, feet pointing and flexing as they poke out of the underside of the car. ]

What's hockey?

You don't know what hockey is? [he's used to shadowkind ppl being weird but she's working on a car rn. HE FIGURED SHE WOULD KNOW A THING. HE THOUGHT SHE WAS NORMAL. ISH. chump.]

I'm guessing it's a sport since you're a male and you partook in it during your formative adolescent years. [ ping ping plunk, she slides back out again, brushing her greasy hands on her jeans like nbd. ]

[ambitionist]

Well ... yeah.

[ she scrambles to her feet, a little bit up in his business because she doesn't care about societal norms tbh. ]

What kind of ball is used?

[ambitionist]

[maybe she's ... italian???? no. he doesn't move, though, not seeming to mind beyond the initial werwatey.] It's not a ball, it's a puck. Uh, little round disc. You try to hit it with a stick into the other team's goal.

[ her face scrunches up in thought, hesitantly offering, ] The one on the ice?

[ambitionist]

That's the real one, yeah.

[felidity]

Is there a fake one? I like your cologne.

[ambitionist]

Some people play it off the ice. [his face says that he thinks those people are lame.] Huh? Oh, thanks.

[felidity]

[ she breathes deeply for a second. ] Hockey, thank you, I feel informed now.

[ambitionist]

Yeah, any time. Hey, I'm not trying to be rude, but are you Shadowkind? Or just ... I dunno, Mormon.

[felidity]

No. [ but she seems to catch the implication, looking a little... not embarrassed, but bashful. ] I'm a genetically engineered feline moreau, I grew up in a lab. I didn't... get out much.

[ambitionist]

Oh. I guess that explains the wrench ...

Yes, I'm very strong.

Noted. You need any help with the car?

[felidity]

Sure. [ she babbles about the intake manifold??? for a second. car stuff. idk. but as she does this, she pops the hood so the engine is exposed. more car stuff. ]

[ambitionist]

[alex knows car stuff ... so he's all like /helps where applicable. this was such a good tag. america.]

[felidity]

[ much repair. very greasemonkey. she has no problem wiping grease all over herself and doesn't seem bothered by the scrapes and cuts she gets on her arms when she's reaching into tiny little places filled with jagged metal. ]

Yeah, it was. [he feels very dirty and accomplished.] You learn all that in the lab, or is this a hobby for you?

[felidity]

Not really. We had basic training -- how to change a tire, what to do if the car overheats, et cetera. I read a car repair manual.

[ does that make it a hobby? she's not too sure. dumb as a box of rocks, but she's actually pretty smart. ]
