Me? Nah. I didn't even go to uni. Didn't even to go school most the time. Don't think MI5 were gonna come knocking, you know?

I didn't go to college either. But I still found my way into the more sneaky end of things.

Yeah me too but that's community service for you. Bullshit picking up litter and cleaning up graffiti. Shove a bunch of crims together and they think they won't get in trouble?

[She snorts.]

Yeah, I don't think they ever really think that one through. I think they just want a condensed way of making people suffer.

Have you done it?

[ She's almost... hopeful? Most people she meets that has seems to be fucked up weirdos. ]

[She pauses before shaking her head.]

Got close a few times, though. Managed to con my way out of any real trouble, but I got lucky that way. And it ... didn't really stop me from continuing to break the law in a spectacular fashion.

Yeah well one of the twats I was on community service with got done for eating pick and mix. Nathan, he's around here somewhere.

[Felicity crit failed her wisdom check so Nathan is not even on her radar. Sucks to be Nathan, though this will probably come back to bite her in the ass when she finds out about some of the things Nathan's been saying.]

[She laughs, making a sympathetic face.]

One of those, huh? Sounds like fun.

And here I thought the knights were safe based on the whole chivalry thing.

[ She turns and gives her a bit of a look over. ]

So you been doing this stuff long then?

I've been here almost ... holy shit almost two years now? Longest I've probably stayed anywhere.

Seriously? Two years? And you haven't ended up dead or something? [ That does seem to be a theme. ]

[She laughs sharply at that.]

You know, there are some people here who have survived working for us for decades even.

[ Her first experience of the place has been Andres, let's just say her opinion is maybe a bit skewed. ]

[Fair enough. If that were Felicity's first mission, she'd probably be a little biased too.]

Yeah. The rate of survival isn't as awful as you think.

Suppose that's good then. Not really sure why people would bother sticking around otherwise. Oath or not. I don't have a death wish.

Trust me, none of us do.

[They all want to live. Except when things are really shitty, maybe not so much, but no, generally speaking they will do whatever it takes to live.

They just happen to be prepared to die too.]

So what do you do around here then? Or there I guess. I mean like do you have a thing? Computers or something?

I'm a freelancer, so not having a thing is ... actually our thing. But I used to work in acquisitions before I joined up.

Freelance? Freelance doing what?

Whatever the missions require?

[She shrugs.]

Each of the sects has their own thing. Freelancers are for the people who don't fit into a sect.

So you just freelance at everything then?

Pretty much. We fill in the gaps that no one else can.
