Perched at the edge of any civilized lands, the small lumber town of Falcon's Hollow has always had to rely on itself to solve its  problems.  Now the hacking coughs of the sick are heard throughout the town.  The plague has come to the Hollow, and the town is ill equipped to stop it on its own, particularly given its resistance to magic.

That's where the Knights come in, sent to assist a local herbalist in putting together enough supplies to mass produce a cure.

[ logan looks annoyed by this attempt at talking it down, HE WAS ALL READY TO FIGHT IT.

'cause she's gonna, with supreme purpose. (crit atk 26, dmg 18) because of her skills (and the bloodletting feat), if it hits he'll begin bleeding and take 1 additional point of damage per round until the wound is healed because that feat is fucking hella, tbh.

[Miles will take that cue, because the thing sure isn't going to keep talking to them with a knife sticking out of it, and he dashes forward to punch the thing in the face. 'Cause that's what he's good at. Cars and punching (atk 22, 8 dmg if it hits).]

[ abigail's knife buries itself in the creature's throat, blood spurting out and matting its fur. before it can recover enough to react, miles is upon it, slamming a fist into its snout, and knocking loose a fang.

veins bulge out of logan's forehead as he goes into a rage, letting out a bestial roar and lunging forward to bury his claws in its side (atk 33, dmg 20). the wolf growls and snaps its jaws as he twists the blades inside of him, but it doesn't appear to be dead yet. ]

[Nels would have preferred walking into a trap, over a cowardly sneak attack... But no going back now. He draws his blade and charges, slashing with a mighty 31 (Boosted with cunning insight, and just one shy of a critical. Cruel world.). For 12 damage.]

[ abigail darts in to slash at it with her second knife. (atk 22, dmg 7) ]

[ nels cuts a hunk off the worg's other side, and then abigail squeezes in between miles and wolverine to stab it with another knife as it thrashes against them all.

"Cowards!" it hisses, snapping its jaws at abigail (atk 22, dmg 15). it also gets to try to trip her for free without provoking an attack (str 13, opposed by a dex or str check on her part) ]

[omfg you all this wasn't what Grimrot wanted. She shoots Abigail an annoyed look, drawing her mace and swinging it at the wolf (....crit fail). Her heart really isn't in it.]

[ oh god she accidentally hits abigail, so... roll damage... ]

[OF COURSE SHE DID at least it's only 4 damage.]

[Miles is totally oblivious to the friendly fire and he throws another punch into the warg's face (action point says 31 which is also a crit, 19 dmg).]

[ with one final injured dog squeal, the wolf is killed as miles knocks its teeth back into its skull. logan retracts his claws, drawing his arm back and glancing around to make sure nobody else got too fucked up in the brawl.

[Grimrot makes a frustrated noise.] I could have talked to him! It was entirely unneccesary to resort to violence that quickly!

[And then she shoots a guilty look towards Abigail.] ...and I'm sorry I hit you. [That's part of why she didn't want to resort to violence. She's no bloody good at it!]

It's fine. [ so whatever. abigail seems ambivalent, tbh, and moves to the pile of mushrooms, immediately scooping them up and shoving them in her backpack with the rest of the supplies. those people in the village are on a timeline, y'all. she's pretty sure it was necessary, but she's not going to bicker about it. she looks up at logan. ] I think we have enough now.

Yeah, you could have talked to him, and he still would have sent us off killing a bunch of other things. Remember?

[Still, it might just be an excuse. He's had enough of killing things for one day.]

If we've got enough, then let's get the heck out of here.

I've done enough dwarven sightseein' for one day. Let's go.

[ she makes sure she's got all the mushrooms before straightening up and following logan. she can patch up her injuries as they walk. ]

[ they make it back out to the dark courtyard, where night has fallen, and the ruins seem to have a more sinister aspect without any remaining natural light. a little bit of moonlight is all that illuminates the exterior world, but logan stops, sniffing the air and holds up a hand, before his head whips to the left and his claws extend slowly. ] We're not alone.

[Grimrot's was a 15 and that's... better...]

[ yeah no. SO THE WOLVES ARE GETTING A SURPRISE ROUND :D all four of them. everybody but grimrot is getting attacked by one as they leap out of the shadows growling and gnashing their teeth (atk 14 @ abigail, 5 dmg if it hits; 17 @ miles, 9 dmg if it hits; 16 @ nels, 3 dmg if it hits, and then one totally misses wolverine)

and they actually get to go again so second set (atk 16 @ abigail, 6 dmg; 19 @ miles, 6 dmg; 19 @ nels, 6 dmg; annnd a miss on wolverine) ]

[ UM YEAH so that brings abigail to a whole 5 hp so she's going to back the fuck away as her move action, not looking good at all even a little bit, before drawing her excalibur for the first time on any mission every and firing at ...any wolf. (atk 23 plus -4 penalty for not having precise shot, so atk 19; penetration dmg 19 dayum if that hits) ]

[WELL CRAP WOLVES. Grimrot raises her mace and moves in, swinging it down at the closest wolf (atk 20, dmg 4).]

[Miles manages to barely dodge out of the way of the first attack, but he takes the second, cursing before he strike out at the wolf that got a piece of him (atk 21, dmg 9).]
