Andres has been quite the distraction from the looming problem of what's to be done about Dimitris' compatriots in the cult of the Church of the Lord's Humanity. Having learned during the retaking of the Isle that the Church leader, Draken Crombe, has been impersonating NOVA Records mogul Chad Becksworth for years in order to gain access to the company's resources, keeping tabs on his movements has become even more pressing.

His next scheduled appearance? At the upcoming 2015 Grammy's. And considering that the Church was behind the disaster in New York last year, where hundreds of Shadowkind were brainwashed into committing suicide in the Hudson River, it's only logical that Wynn intends to send his own forces to attempt to avert any other large scale catastrophes.

But that's not all. There have been some further twists in the story, and it may be time for them all to come to light. To that end, Wynn has asked many of those involved with the mission to gather, whether they'll be sent to the awards show with the team or not.

He's asked Myrilandel and Violet to come before the others.*

[ As Buffy swans in, she has obvious priorities, dropping into a seat and leaning across the table to get at the box Finnick set there. She can't really be surprised by the number of people bc she had to send Rafael the list so she must know this was gonna happen. ]

[The sound of running feet precedes Alainn's appearance, slowing once she's a few feet from the door. She had been studying her daily spells and hadn't seen the message for this briefing until just a few minutes ago. It was going to suck if she was the last one to arrive... whoops.

She enters the room at a quick clip, eyes wandering around at those gathered. Her smile is quick as she sees Rose, Kat and Gar, before her eyes land on Mark, turning it quickly into a grin as she walks to take a seat next to him.] Am I the last one?

[graveflowers]

[ muffled from a mouthful of donuts: ] Archer. Can't do Grammy's without Archer.

[DID SOMEBODY SAY, ARCHER?!. Also, whatever Spike. Archer strides in already dressed great... But I actually rolled a crit fail, so it's still got the fucking tags on it., so feel free to give him shit about that.

Bitchin, Donuts! [Archer scoops a few up, and moves towards a seat, he seems to be in a pretty good mood this morning. I'm sure that'll change in the near future... He takes a swig from his flask.] Anyone need a drink before this gets rolling? Ladies? [He points the flask towards Vi and Myri. You're drinking for two, now.

Thank you all for coming. While not all of you will be going into the field for this mission, you're each here because I feel you should know the information that will be imparted here today.

[Well, that sure smells like someone has secrets.]

...That doesn't sound ominous at all...

If everything were fine, we wouldn't be going. [ To be fair. Well. Buffy and Des probably still would because their boyfriend. But. ] Did we learn more about what they have planned to go down?

We've confirmed that Keijen Blade will be performing at the Grammy Awards in two days. Considering that we have seen proof that exposure to his ... performances can implant dangerous suggestions into the minds of those listening, one thing is clear: they'll likely be attempting to broadcast some sort of suggestion to all twenty five million viewers or so who will be tuning in.

[And Rose's happiness at seeing Alainn join the briefing evaporates at the mention of Keijen, eyes darkening.]

So what's the plan? Stop the performance or stop the broadcast?

[wynn]

Considering how our attempts at direct intervention have gone in the past, it seems wisest to simply ensure that the broadcast cuts out for the length of his performance. To do that, Sir Gar and Sir Samcelot will need to be taken backstage, to get direct access to the communications room where the broadcast is controlled. We'll need a way to temporarily disable or distract everyone working within that station, [ his gaze skates to elena ] likely through asking Sir Gilbert to infiltrate their staff. We have to assume that Crombe will have his own guards roaming around to prevent any such intervention. I'm sending enough of you to keep posted at various locations around the Staples Center. Some of you will need to keep an eye on things in the crowd - since we can't risk shutting down Blade's performance, it's likely that those in attendance will at least remain affected. What that means--- we have no way of knowing.

Best guess says, army of mindless zombie-fans. [ There's a little shiver here, thinking back on the footage from New York. ] We'll figure out a way to rein them in.

I'm certain you will. Sir Chessing, Summers, Spike, the Odairs, Hathaway, Archer, O'Rourke, Reedhym, and Fredrick will be sent in the field to ensure the operation goes smoothly. Jack will operate as mission leader for this assignment. We already have access to the Award Show provided through contact with Rafael Giovanni, who has arranged to put each of you on the guest list.

[Oh good, because infiltrating the staff worked so well for her before.

She looks pretty damn confident, though.]

So you want me to feign some kind of emergency and draw them away? Unless you've got a really effective way of taking at least several people out at once...

It may be simpler than taking them out - if only because afterwards, it will raise fewer alarms. We can't afford for them to stop the show, only to reconvene later. They may choose to repeat the performance, in such a case.

We should probably stock up on ear plugs for our part. Or maybe music of our own. Good punk rock shuts out just about anything else when you play it loud enough.

[A beat.]

Reckon Nadia'll be there?

[Bluff 18 to feign indifference did u even try at all.

...he's not asking about his other girlfriend. Really, it's better all around to not think about Dumage at all.]

Nadia's band is also scheduled to perform. The Dragon's Hoard can provide you with specialized sound dampening equipment that you may activate during the performances.

But can I get it to play Sex Pistols? [It's more fun than just not hearing anything....]

The moment that broadcast goes down, security's gonna head for the comm room. You guys are gonna have to keep them from getting there, without raising too many alarms either. [ lmao her tone says good luck glad that's not my job ]

I think I can distract a bunch of guards. [ looks down at her big ass fucking belly. she will sure fake going into labor because that's only alarming in the sense that omg incoming tiny human not omg this is a trap. ] You know how the menfolk get into a panic when there is fluids and hysterical pregnant ladies.

If we can figure out who's in charge of security somehow, they can be the person I replace. Potentially give orders for everyone else to keep out while someone makes repairs. I could lead them to Vi, and if they come back, deny them entrance.

That would mean we'd have to make sure the actual person in charge was dealt with, though.

[That gets a chuckle out of Alainn, who was thinking the exact same thing tbh. Why not take advantage of a "medical emergency" that won't alert the guards in a "we're actually screwing with the show" kind of way. This is why neither of them should do the planning.

Aye, that's true enough. There are plenty of ways to take care of one person quietly rather than an entire team of 'em.
