Hopefully not to a foolish miscalculation, but overall, I don't know why she wouldn't. She doesn't seem to judge us any differently than anyone else, despite how we may look. [Sexy, that is.] She can perceive this situation with an open-mind, however far that extends with her.

But I think that's why it's also important that we clarify our reasons for standing against this particular settlement of drow, instead of letting it be callously attributed to the fact that they are drow.

This might have been part of Wynn's reasoning in sending her and Arthur, as well. I'm sure I'm intended to set an example for more than just the city of Magadan, when it comes down to it.

I should hope Wynn's precious Arthur were not so narrow minded, but perhaps you're not far off the mark.

It certainly sounds like the lesson in practical tolerance Wynn's likely to try and impart.

[And by... Wynn imparting it, he means... Wynn assuming they'll impart it. Sigh]

I just think it would come better from you. [She gently folds her arms across her middle, leaning back to regard him better.] I can't guarantee she'll listen to me. I know she'll listen to you.

[A fond smile lights up her face as she continues to speak.] She has very high regard for anything that comes out of your mouth. You can see it in the eager way she seeks your approval. She respects you, rightfully so, and will, therefore, respect your opinion on the matter over anyone else's.

[That seems to give him a moment of pause, at least] I'm certain we'll find a moment to address the subject when we're there.

I'm sure you'll have plenty of opportunity. Besides, your point might be better made in context. And in private.

[She's quiet for several seconds, attempting to visualize the scene to which they'll arrive.] I suppose you'll be working with Thomas's team, then?

[Why do they always have to base all their decisions and feelings on logic? Ok, maybe that's a slight overreaction. Still, she can't help but look irrationally disappointed, before reigning her emotions in.] I suppose the smaller a team I have, the less imposing the effort will seem. Arthur and Ethan should provide sufficient physical support, should the need arise, I guess.

Our mission may not take more than one well planned night. At which point, we can reconvene.

[She shakes her head, perhaps a little too enthusiastically, at that, her previously ignored worries springing back to the surface. But, they've been through this before, and it's too late to turn back now, so she doesn't feel the need to really go into it all again.

She can't help that in a state of fear, Christos is the only one who really makes her feel safe. It's a deeply instinctual reaction for her (like an animal magnetism).]

That'd probably be a good plan of action. Quite a good plan, actually.

[She smiles softly, feeling more content than she has in over a week. His confidence is comforting to her too, and she feels a little less neurotic knowing she's not the only one still concerned about her role.] I suppose we'll just have to hope this goes as smoothly as we're planning.

If not, at least this particular group is ... adaptable.

[She slowly cranes her neck to look back at the other passengers on the flight. She doubts anyone else would realize what an actual compliment that was coming from Christos. But she does, and she smiles a little wider when she looks back at him. It's more than a little relieving, and it helps bolster her own confidence in this mission.

She feels suddenly renewed in all this. A maybe even a little excited, but in a cautious way. They can do this.] We can do this.

[She's not sure if the reassurance is for her sake, or his, but it feels necessary nonetheless.]

Naturally. [He'll just hide it behind sounding boastful, instead of optimistic] As long as those squires don't get in the way.

There are definitely worse Knights we could be stuck with. I think they'll do fine, all things considered.

If not, there are miles of wilderness nearby...

[She can't help but let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head. His teasing makes her feel playful so she asks:] How long do you think you could survive alone in the wilderness? With only the tools you carry on you.

The resourceful man you are, I just want to make sure you're prepared for anything.

Of course I am. I'd find my way out within a week.

[Why is his manly arrogance so endlessly charming? She gives him an impressed eyebrow raise, her smirk becoming more defined.] Of course you would.

I just wouldn't stop moving for fear I'd end up resting somewhere full of insects or rodents. [She makes a disgusted face.] The wilderness is terrible. [No camping trips for this guy.]

I'm glad that's your concern, rather than natural predators.

Oh, that too, I guess... [And she trails off. She could honestly see herself killing a bear or whatever other wild animal she might come across, and taking out a whole swarm of bugs seemed much more challenging. And gross.] Of course I can run very fast if need be. And climb... things.
