The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

A few times, yeah. It's kind of nice, having a hobby. Back home my only hobby was screwing around.

It's a good one. But it does sort of start to feel ... all the same, after awhile.

Malina calls it conquest fatigue. [ because gus goes through it every few years. that's why he has a handful of slutty friends in both of his cities. most people would, you know, call them friends, but gus doesn't play that. ]

That's a good way to describe it. I think that's why I originally started fucking guys. I was just so ... bored, right? And now it's my favorite. Guys are so much less complicated.

Meh, I think Malina's way less complicated than some of the guys I've dated, back when I dated. [ he's also known malina for literally twenty years so that helps. and there is no romantic entanglement to screw everything up. that's why she is his heterosexual lifemate. ]

Well, yeah, because you've known her for fifty years.

[ shrug. ] It didn't seem complicated when we were in college, either. [ ~youths. ] I've never been bored enough to want to plant my flag in an unconquered vag either.
