[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions: Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask! Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

[ her mouth thins into a line. ] That's what brothers do. No one is going to walk me down the aisle so I couldn't ask you to do that since it's not happening. Asking you to stand up for me, next to the person I'm asking to be part of my family for the rest of our lives, seemed equally as important, especially since you're already my family. But whatever. Call it filler if you want.

Look, I know you don't do romance or whatever, I get it. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask anyway. [ and she's going to change the subject immediately because she deals with rejection about as well as faye does, she just internalizes it all. ] Do they do dessert in sushi places or are we going to have to go somewhere else for the cake?

I meant that I'd do it. [BUT HE'S NOT GOING TO HARP ON IT SO] They have ice cream.

[ yeah WHATEVER isn't the answer she wants ok. ] I guess ice cream is good.

I think it's only, uh, Japanese flavors, though. Like green tea and red bean.

What's red bean?

Uh ... red beans? It's sweet, not that strong. I dunno how to describe it, you'd just have to taste it.

I was gonna get the green tea. We can get both, though. [don't get too far ahead of urself tho bc their dinner is only done now. alex is glad so he can eat instead of think about how offended he is that lila made him feel like a shitty person on his birthday.]

[ mmm food, she digs in inexpertly still because she's never going to be able to figure out how to eat sushi in clean bites. she's such a tragedy and even looks frustrated that she can't do it in one bite. aside from that she's notably respectful in eating it, not dipping it in wasabi or anything, like she googled it or something. ]

[what if he just ignored her and focused on his own sushi. that he eats like a pro. it's not like he lived in japan for awhile or anything.]

[ she's self-aware enough to realize she was probably too harsh with him and that he's probably pissed at her (sense motive 40), but since she doesn't feel like apologizing, she just keeps quiet until she's done. ]

I can see why you like it so much. It's growing on me.

Yeah. [yep. that's all he has to say.]

[ yup, she should've just keep her mouth shut. ] We don't really need to get dessert if you just want to head back.

Whatever you wanna do.

We can get ice cream some other time. [ she rifles around in her purse for her wallet so she can pay. ]

[ doot de doo, she slides out of her seat to pay and leaves a tip even though she doesn't know if that's kosher, waiting for alex to join her so they can leave. ]

[most restaurants in the uk include a "service charge" in the bill that's meant to be the tip, but telling her that would mean ... having to talk and he's not about that so he doesn't say anything. he just silently joins her outside and starts walking back to the car.]

[ to the car they go! she starts it up and, after putting the top down again, carefully maneuvers them back on the road. zoom. gonna be a long, silent drive, but lila's not about to open her mouth and irritate him further, she's just going to drive them home as quickly as possible. perhaps too quickly. (drive 8) ]

[silence ensues. he could say something about her awful driving but ... nope, a car crash would probably be a pleasant distraction anyway. once the car is back in the garage, he practically dives out to get away. time to go back to his room and be depressed ... just like baby jesus apparently intended. fuck birthdays.]
