[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters participating in the following missions are asked to wait until their missions have concluded before tagging into things that take place chronologically after said missions: Ravenloft, Shadow Bermuda, and City of Blood If you aren't certain if that applies to you, please ask! Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.

[ why ISN'T she angry at him, really? she was sure certainly angry at literally everyone else involved who lied to her. but then again, they'd all been walking on eggshells around her since day one. while henry--

and then he calls her mom and she feels her heart seize up in her chest. it's one thing to have someone tell her that she's a mother, it's another to find herself staring at someone who believes it so wholeheartedly. and there he is, looking no worse for the wear of her raising him, and she thinks of the mess her own mother made of her life, how possible it was to take things so far in the wrong direction, and for a moment she can't talk. ]

[ He knows it's a lot all at once, and maybe breaking out the mom word right now wasn't the best, timing-wise. He remembers, almost like it was yesterday, when he showed up at Emma's apartment in Boston. He'd wanted to call her mom then, but she wasn't ready.

Mindful of that, he backpedals a little. ]

If - if that's too much, I can call you Regina for now. I know this is a lot.

[ there's that intrinsic pride of hers that wants to let him backpedal, to insist on something more formal, but it's crushed by the way the title made her feel only moments before. ] No, it's... it's fine. I just have to get used to it.

[ He wouldn't blame her if she wanted something more formal for now, even if he'd prefer just calling her mom. But then she tells him it's okay and it feels like an invisible knot loosens around his heart. He manages a little smile, though he refrains from reaching out to hug her. ]

I'll take it easy on you while you're getting used to it. Promise.

And I'm old enough now that I can take care of myself so you don't have to worry.

How much do you remember? About me? [ it rolls out before she wants it to. she finds it hard to believe that growing up her son, he hadn't heard all the worst there was to tell ]
