The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia.  Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed:  they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital.  Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn.  They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.  

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

Buffy, Spike, and Archer are all Hide members, yes. Spike's actually, well, a vampire, whereas Buffy... that's a bit complicated, and I'm not really certain how much it's my right to say, but she possesses a great deal of strength as a chosen of the gods. And Archer-- [ must say-- nice things-- about archer----- ] Er, I believe he was trained as an intelligence operative, but he has his um, own very unique style.

[She laughs a bit.]

Vi has always held him in high regard, and I trust her judgement.

[rationalizes]

[ LMAO gar... crit fails her attempt to school her features in response to that. sorry archer. ] Er. I... certainly respect Vi's opinion.

[Amusement clouds her features in response before she nods.]

I also heard that he went to town on those raptors during the castle attack.

[rationalizes]

That's true. He helped save both of the children. I'm certain his heart's in the right place.

[allmydreams]

[She nods in agreement.]

That counts for a lot in my book - so long as his execution doesn't completely outweigh it.

I never really knew that he was a martial arts expert. It seems he's full of surprises.

[allmydreams]

[She gives a small shrug.]

I think we've all got our layers to explore. It's what keeps things interesting.

[rationalizes]

Precisely.

It really applies to all of us. Kat is a very practiced mage - I believe she's earned the appellation of archmage now, but she's also quite skilled with computer. Mr. Descant is quite handy with a gun, but he's also a very experienced detective. I've done quite a bit of study into the fields of arcane lore, as well as a variety of sciences, to the end of trying to quantify magic in scientific terms.

[She nods a bit, curious at that topic.]

That can be a hard thing to do, when some sources of magic are so intuitive. Especially some of the more divine magics.

[rationalizes]

Most of my studies focus on the arcane, but that doesn't mean I don't believe even the divine could be understood scientifically were we advanced enough. I don't think it removes any of the mystique of it, for all that - if anything, it makes it all the more impressive.

[She nods for a moment, before shrugging.]

Makes sense. I kind of grew up with natural magic as well as the arcane, so I feel like a lot of it has to do with the person who wields it too.

[rationalizes]

[ gar rolled a fantastic tact check not to start deconstructing that sentence in an irritating nerd fashion be proud ] There's certainly much more to it than lies within our understanding yet.

I think that was everyone. Beside... Dumage.

[So, so proud. She nods a bit before glancing back over her shoulder.]

I noticed things seemed a little ... tense.

[rationalizes]

Quite an understatement, really. Dumage... took some things into her own hands where this mission was concerned. She was working undercover, wormed her way into Blade's entourage, and then decided that she was going to pretend to be a double agent. She did a few very questionable things in order to convince them.

[allmydreams]

[She nods slowly as she processes that.]

And I take it she wasn't a Wynn-approved double agent?

[rationalizes]

Triple agent, I suppose. And no. She decided to do it because she didn't trust the rest of this team to get anything done.

[allmydreams]

[Her eyebrows go up a bit at that.]

But she seems to trust us enough when it comes to her sister.

[rationalizes]

I'm not certain she feels like she has a choice. She certainly couldn't turn to Blade for help.

[allmydreams]

[She makes a face in agreement. Ew. Blade.]

That is true.

[rationalizes]

How much do you know about him?

[allmydreams]

I know that he's the Nightmare Lord's son, and that he's Jade's dad. Vi's filled me in on a lot of general stuff.

[It's mostly that the he's involved with the Nightmare Lord, who's caused Vi so much pain, that makes her mad and has firmly implanted him in the Bad Guy column.]

[rationalizes]

I don't know if I'd consider that particularly general information. It stymied us for quite awhile. [ and she still sounds very troubled by all of it ] You know about his abilities?

[allmydreams]

[She nods in agreement.]

That is a check on creepy mind-rape-y powers. Not my favorite thing to hear.

[rationalizes]

It seems to be something of a theme. But that seems to be an important part of what Draken Crombe's church is doing - attempting to use the powers of Blade and his kind to implant some sort of messages in the greater populace.

Dimitris Sarandis is a member of that Church. He's been instrumental in helping them track down the Nightmare Lord's descendants and recruit them to their cause.
