slovechnia ♔ hey little sister what have you done

♬ White Wedding - Billy Idol
WHO || Failboat, Dimitris Sarandis, Amanda Moulet, invited wedding guests, and more [closed]
WHAT || The Knights head to Slovechnia to interrupt Dimitris' wedding to Dumage's sister
WHERE || Flight from London to Slovechnia; Slovechnia
WHEN || Sometime in February
HOW || Actionspam or prose
The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia. Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed: they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital. Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn. They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.
Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

Even more satisfying that he landed on his back. [With a giant hole in his chest.] Can't believe it's bloody over.

I'm glad you think so. [ She turns so that Vi is just as welcome in the conversation, side-stepping to effectively shut Des out as he steps away in the interest of making it a small circle between the three of them. ] And relieved, honestly. I'm not about to go singing through the streets of Oz, but that is one boogeyman I'll be glad to not have any more nightmares about.

he looks down in momentary surprise at the paper that astrid presses into his hand, registers what it is, and then looks back up at her with both eyebrows slightly raised.
he does look amused, at least. ]

... Thank you. For bringing him in.

Three, even. Though as terrible as they were, they're not the true threat. It's a step in the right direction, but that's all. Just a step.
[She takes a step back from them, starting to disengage.]
I don't know about you two, but carrying a nearly two hundred pound unconscious disgrace of a man for that long left me exhausted, so I think I'll just...
[And then she gestures with a gentle tilt of her head towards the plane before she starts to break off from them completely.]

Don't beat yourself up. [ she knows buffy will, but she says it anyway. vi's guilt complex almost got her killed, did see to the end of her husband, she's not about to let buffy wallow in it when she could lend her a piece of rope to pull herself out. even if it's a very small piece of rope. ] Come on, let's go home.
[ maybe say goodbye to mark and alainn first but that's still the direction of home. ]

It is unfortunately rather lost on Rose that she looks like Carrie after the Prom, the Dhampir more concerned with checking on Alainn now that she trusts herself enough to keep it together. (WS 22). She hangs back a little all the same, allowing others their moment to speak with her and Mark as Rose's gaze rakes over the other woman, making sure that she hadn't been hurt. Only then will she allow herself to smile, weak and weary though it may be and wait for her chance to speak with her before they have to part ways.]

All right yeah we've still got work to do, but we won today. That's worth something, right?

Best idea I've heard all day. [ And she walks arm-in-arm with Vi back towards Mark and Alainn, smile staying firmly in place, albeit reserved with the appropriate somberness. ]

... But he didn't get his hands on Amanda. I'll take it.

I don't know if I ever really expected to have closure.

[ Steve spares a quick glance out to where the fight took place. ]
With monsters like that it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel. You get shrouded in so much of their darkness.

But I'm glad that son of a bitch is gone. And maybe that's enough.

Maybe it'll just provide some peace. [ He shrugs. ] Make it a bit easier to sleep at night.

Call me.

As Dimitris' body finally falls for the last time, as Mark's arm tightens around her and says the words she knows mean so much more to the both of them now that at least this nightmare was finally gone, she nods, kissing him gently once more.
As the crowd approaches to say their goodbyes, Alainn heads immediately for Rose, the gratitude in her eyes palpable as she throws her arms around the other woman, regardless of how much like Carrie at the prom she currently looks. She is, however, careful of the new stab-wound, not squeezing too tight.]
Oh my gods Rose, I... I don't know how to begin to thank ye.
no subject
You don't. [Breathing in her scent and allowing Alainn's presence to steady her. A lot had happened since they'd last been together and it was making letting go of her friend, easier said than done.] We have each others backs, right?
no subject
Always, Rose, always. I've missed ye so much. [She'd been focusing so much of her time on Andres, on Mark, and on the rebuilding of the Island and on continuing the relations with the Knights, that she hadn't taken the time to go back to HQ. Having Rose here and being able to talk to her again, see her and hug her, brought into sharp perspective just how much the other woman was missed.]
How're ye doing? What's new?
