The morning after, the Knights board a plane at their private airfield, and begin the couple hour flight to the country of Slovechnia.  Wynn has laid out a plan for them as such, leaving Sir Gar in charge of seeing it executed:  they are to send in a few Knights to infiltrate the wedding, while others steal an ambulance from a local hospital.  Using magic to make Sarandis think he's having a heart attack during the ceremony, they will intercept the outgoing call to the paramedics, and pose as them to take him out of there and straight to a private airfield to meet with Wynn.  They're all aware, however, of just how smoothly their plans tend to go where these villains are involved - especially if the Mind Master shows up.  

Either way, it promises to be an interesting day...

[ kat might have been pretty solemn during dimitris' actual death, but something seems to shift a bit during the flight back, and she cracks open a beer with fred, who actually gets her smiling by the time they're partway out.

it's almost like watching a weight lift off of her. ]

[ Look you got shot a lot, Kat, so maybe Steve's a little bit worried. Even though he's pretty sure Vi did some mojo to get you going again. He's still going to check and maybe commend you for all that crazy ass magic stuff. Maybe you showed Steve that not every magic user is Loki. ]

I've had worse. [ she takes a sip, smirking over at fred a moment, before looking steve over ] What about you? First time out in the field with this crew, and you kept up. Not bad.

[recruited]

I'll be honest it's rare that I see someone take that many bullets and keep going.

[ That isn't him at least. She held up. ]

Ya know--the war was basically one massive improvisation effort. You can have the best laid plans and get thrown in the grinder. [ He shrugs. ] You learn to lean into it.

I'm gonna go ahead and not ask for clarification on exactly how many bullets constitutes 'that many'. You know. For my sanity.

[recruited]

[ Steve winces and nods at Fred. ]

I wouldn't. But she never went down. You have yourself a very strong dame.

[ Don't say dame, Steven. ]

[ Steve holds up his hands. Thinking he's offended her ]

Sorry. Old habits from the forties. Woman. [ He stresses. ] You're a very strong woman.

Good save. She really hates the 'd' word.

Back in my time it was just a word. I forget things have changed sometimes. I've been out of the ice for years and I still struggle with texting.

[ He knows he can act old. That he can act like most peoples father or grandfather. He's not sure what to feel. ]

So apparently, "reverse mugging" is not gonna catch on as an excuse to beat people up without retaliation. Who woulda thought?

[His guilt that didn't stop him from doing it.] Though, I really question what they're feeding their paramedics in that place. Tex and I both hit hard and those bastards were jackasses about laying down.
