[A garbled, static-filled transmission, encoded in a Shadow language, has made its way to the Knights attention, seemingly linked to a series of similar transmissions last year.  Equipped with a decoding program by the Dragon's Hoard, the Knights head to a set of railroad tracks that were mentioned, to try to see what this is all about... ]

[ Deryn was still leaning on the hood. And boy did those headlights hurt his eyes.]

Deryn, d-e-r-y-n. [ He only spelled it since it sounds so close to Darren.]

Gideon Gleeful. [Bluff 4 lmao did he even try. Maybe it's the way he can't quite hold the suspicion in.] Just not seeing what's so time-sensitive that a few selfies will make the difference.

[ nod nod scribble scribble ] Deryn... Gideon... [ however, he halts halfway to look up at dipper with growing annoyance ] Yeah, well you wouldn't understand, would you? We can't pause every five seconds to pose for Instagram, or we'll never get anything done.

[Dipper is nothing if not extremely annoying when he wants to be. He can pick a petty argument with anyone.]

Yeah, but it's great exposure. Don't you have anyone managing your social media? [A beat.] Are you... looking for someone to manage your social media? I could send you my resume.

I'm sure he's going to hire you on the spot, [ alice interjects wryly, turning her attention to jamie, lowering her voice. ] Can I speak to you for a second, while Gideon interviews himself? He's going to talk forever, honestly, and it's important.

[ like nat 20 diplomacy important (21 total) but lmao considering she tazed him... ]

[ maybe jamie isn't too inclined to have his boss overhear whatever this is, because he unbuckles his seatbelt and says: ] Yeah, hold tight a sec, boss. [ before getting out and nodding to her to follow.

gideon looks SO BETRAYED like wHAT ARE YOU DOING and rolls his eyes at dipper ] Look, I'm not one of those guys who picks talent up off the street, sorry. That only happens in the movies.

[ alice looks genuinely surprised when he gets out, hesitating before she scampers after him. since she didn't think he was actually going to agree, she has to scramble to think of something to say to keep him distracted until the train passes. (she doesn't actually want to taze him again.) she's preoccupied by thinking that she walks directly into his back. ]

Oh shit, sorry. Again. Jeez, I'm making a habit of this, aren't I?

[I don't actually know if Frankie's tinkering was successful but either way, she's going to stay over by the tracks just in case anything else goes wrong and keep an eye on things while the rest of the team deals with the car. (Spot ... 15. Maybe with that roll. Maybe.)]

[ Despite the pain the lights are causing his eyes, Deryn has no intention of moving from where he is leaning against the hood in front of the hummer.]

[Dipper shoots an annoyed look after Alice because wow, what exactly crawled up her ass? But having the guy out of the car at least means they'll be stalled for longer.]

Oh, yeah, that heartwarming movie about the desperate down-on-his-luck social media expert. [He rolls his eyes. He's more looking to stall than to actually get a job, though it's not like he'd turn it down if the opportunity arose. He could use an actual not-terrible job.] I'm definitely not looking to act, if that's what you're thinking.

[ as alice rams into jamie from behind, he turns to loom over her, whipping off his sunglasses and looking at her in annoyance. ]

Ok, what the hell is going on? When we stopped, you said you needed our help, then something about getting some message about us? First the toy store, now this. Who are you?

[ he's a bit distracted from her answer, however, because at that moment frankie finishes hitting all the right switches to set off the bells and start lowering the barrier slowly across the road, just as a train whistle sounds from the left. darryl's head swivels that way in surprise, and behind his vehicle, another hummer comes speeding up the road towards the intersection - driving too fast to plan to slow to a stop, apparently of a mind to race the barrier and try to cut under it before it makes it all the way down.

and we're going into init, because the car will be on top of them at the end of one round! ]

[At 100 feet out, Frankie is going to surge heroically (badoom ching - 1/2 or... 2/2 if she needed to use it to do the device disabling) to get closer to the Hummer, pulling out one of her weapons as she goes.

Lining up the front right hand tire of the Hummer, she fires off a series of shots in the hopes of slowing it down.

Atk 19, 22, 19, 26 (With -4 penalty for a ranged attack) Dmg 6, 7, 6, 10.]

[ Deryn's eyes shot up when he heard the shot's fired more than anything his eyes still hurting from the headlights as he pushed off the hood. Oh shit. He reached into his coat pulling out his own gun moving from in front of the Darryl's hummer, but that light encumbrance makes him useless to try and fire.]

Of course the secret organization is packing heat. [Dipper, however, only has melee weapons and is definitely not about to tackle a car to try and stop it his strength is 9. He scrambles back towards Mabel, stopping a step in front of her, and squints, trying to get a look into that other hummer (spot nat 20, 24 total).]

I'll tell you in a second! [ because right now she's leaping back out of the way and attempting to bodily heave him with her. key word attempting. (str 6) ]

[ as frankie shoots out the tires, the car starts careening wildly as the driver loses control, and it weaves ... right towards alice and jaime, who she is not succeeding in budging at all. the sound of gunshots causes darryl to visibly flinch and duck down in his car as he swears, and jaime reacts instantly, diving out of the way of the oncoming car with a ref 20 and drawing his own gun, swinging it to point at frankie. ]

PUT THE GUN DOWN!

[ dipper notices that the driver of the other vehicle is a young African-American woman, whose eyes are wide as she struggles to get the car under control... reflex save for alice also! ]

[THAT ESCALATED QUICKLY. Mabel stays put for now, holding onto her brother's shoulder.] This got cray-cray real fast, huh...

[Sara's also moving out of this car's way (ref 21) for now. At this point, she's not sure if not having her gun drawn at the moment is a good thing or not.]

YOU FIRST! [Frankie swinging her weapon to point at the man holding on her. Readying an action to shoot if he tries to fire on her. (Atk 20, 23. Dmg 10, 6 if it comes to that)]

Unless you wanted to see what happens when a train goes headfirst into a car?!

[ His eyes are still aching but, Deryn kept the gun leveled. He didn't pull the trigger.]

Come on, just stop... [ He can't really see the driver so he's muttered his hopes. ]

Sure did. [Dipper... still doesn't have much to do, but he frowns, looking from the woman to everyone who's waving guns at each other. It's not like he's never ended up in situations this bad. He and Mabel chase mysteries. Often those mysteries have guns. But that doesn't make it fun.]

I don't think she has control of the car.

[Now Sara's mostly just keeping an eye on the gun-pointing situation Frankie's in - if she's gotta do something like toss a baton at the other person to try to knock them out, she just might try it.]

[ jesus christ. alice draws her chain in one quick movement and snaps it out toward jamie to disarm him because the last thing they need is a gun fight in the middle of this. (disarm atk 29?? with improved disarm so no aoo 4 u)

and then she tries to leap out of the way of the oncoming car. (reflex save 15) ]

[ alice manages to snap the gun out of jamie's hand with a crack of the chain, taking him completely by surprise, as he recoils his hand with a wince. it does, however, slow down alice's attempt to avoid the car, and it clips her for 10 dmg, which does, at least, slow the car down to a halt before it gets to the barrier. ]

[Mabel tears herself away from Dipper to run to the car to make sure the lady is okay. it's pretty bold, considering she has no idea if she's a friend or a foe, but THERE'S A LOT GOING ON.]

There's a train coming! I'm sorry! Things are a little cray-cray right now.
