[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from Dimitris' wedding. 

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. No. No, it doesn't. [ She puts her hands on her hips. ] A friend of mine here mentioned getting me things for my birthday, and it's just a reminder that I — I don't know when that actually is.

Well, make up a day then. If you can't remember the actual day then I think you should pick your most favorite day and make that it.

That's ... a good idea. I mean, I've heard of people doing it before, people who don't remember. I just .. I've been away and didn't really seem like any point in celebrating.

Try it here. I'm sure if you pick a day all you have to do is make sure the people closest to you know. So they know when to celebrate with you.

I will, yeah. And lucky enough, the people closest to me all live in the same place, so. Saves a lot of postage.

I'm betting you could also just put up a flier and get even more people to come. People seem to like a good party here.

And what? Like take over the ballroom? [ She stops to consider that. ] Okay, that's not a half-bad idea.

Steve & Skye

[recruited]

[ He keeps a firm grip on her hand, but also lifts his other hand to support her arm. To keep her upright in case she gets too dizzy. ]

I'm not sure. You were out for a good half hour. I carried you here as soon as you hit the ground.

[hacker]

Well, that's mortifying. I promise I'm not usually this ... breakable.

[recruited]

It's okay if you are. [ He smiles. ] Next time I'll try to pull some punches. I don't think it'd be wise if I knocked you out more than once.

[hacker]

No. [ fervently, almost too fervently; ] Don't. Like, ever. Believe me; it's better I get knocked out by you while we're training than out there when it's someone who could ... I don't even want to think about it. Hell, there are some people here I wouldn't want a minute alone with while I was unconscious. I need this.

[recruited]

[ That's kind of a weird response, but it makes Steve worried. ]

Who are you not comfortable with? [ Because Steven will have a very stern talking to with them. If that doesn't work he'll just knock them out too. ]

[hacker]

I don't ... [ Daisy backs off, deflates visibly. ] I didn't mean that. Not anyone specific, at least, just that ... I don't know everyone, and sometimes, even the good guys aren't what they seem to be.

[recruited]

Are you sure there's no one that's making you uncomfortable?

[ Cue the large patriotic angry dad look. Look, he will beat everyone's ass that looks at her funny. ]

[hacker]

[ She looks down, won't meet his gaze as she says, ] I'm sure.

Smith & Myri

Wow. This big guy can actually fish from the lake without alerting them to his presence?

[ He's actually impressed because he thinks this hulking figure might give something away to the fish in the lake.

Though Smith eats his words as soon as the cat pops out those wings like it's no big deal. He tilts his head a little. ]

I didn't know cats could fly.

[witchwoman]

[Myri can't hide her amusement, a smile spreading wider across her face.]

They can't. But Amaranth isn't a cat. He's a flywacket- distant kin to dragons, if legends are correct.

[trackability]

A flywacket. [ That doesn't sound like an actual word, but he won't say that to her. ] So, you've got a pet that's got familial ties to a dragon? I pity the man who tries to mess with you.

[witchwoman]

Amaranth has been by my side for my entire life. But you're right. He is very protective.

[Which might be more convincing if the creature wasn't purring loudly and bumping his head against Smith's hands, demanding more pets.]

He seems to like you, though.

[trackability]

[ He got a little distracted talking to Myri so the pets fell by the wayside, but he starts back up when he starts bumping into his hand. ]

I dunno. I feel like he just likes me cause I'm willing to pet him. I feel a little used.

[witchwoman]

He can be... persistent once he knows what he wants. [They're something of opposites like that.]

But he says that you seem like a good person. And he's a very good judge of character. [Yeah you heard right. They talk to each other.]

He said I'm a good person? You often take character judgment advice from your fuzzy friends?

[ He's not judging. More like teasing. ]

For most of my life, Amaranth was my only companion. I trust his opinion above everyone's.

[It was a weird, nomadic life for Myri for a long time.]

Are you saying he's wrong? [She asks with a small smile tugging at the corners of her mouth.]
