[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from rescuing Gar in New York City, but before the planned Keijen Blade concert at the beginning of 2017.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. [rationalizes]

[ while she's obviously going to be sitting by her fiancee and catching up a bit, jack has to go debrief over the phone with wynn in the back of the plane at one point, and so the seat next to her is unoccupied, in case anyone wants to talk to her about her ordeal. ]

[She doesn't plan on staying long while Jack is gone, this is more a perfunctory check in than anything else, but they didn't really have the chance to talk when they were trying to escape certain fiery death.

However, now that things are a bit calmer ...]

Hey. How're you doing?

[rationalizes]

[ she glances over, barely even trying to summon up the ghost of a smile for the woman ] I don't imagine I'd be fooling anyone to say much more than 'relived' at the moment. But even that is only that I made it out alive.

I'm afraid we might have been too late.

[allmydreams]

Too late?

[Because that is a concerning choice of words always.]

Too late for what?

[rationalizes]

The information they wanted from me - about the Shadow Gate. I didn't give them anything, but that woman--

The Mind Master. And even Blade. Both of them invaded my thoughts, and while I did everything I could to try to block them out, I've no idea whether I succeeded.

[allmydreams]

Well, whether they did or not, maybe we should prepare for the worst. That way if they do use that information to come at us, we'll be able to stop them.

[She shrugs, then smirks.]

We'll basically be next-level Girl Scouts. Always be prepared.

[rationalizes]

I don't know how we can prepare for something like that. They wanted to try to use my designs for a Shadow Gate to... to reverse it somehow, permanently seal the Veil. They'll be seeking out their own scientists, most likely, to take anything they learned and twist it to their ends. Perhaps that gives us something to look for.

[allmydreams]

[Felicity nods for a moment, before tipping her head to the side.]

Do you know who they would try and talk to? Any big names in the field other than you? Maybe we could get eyes on them somehow and see what they're up to.

[rationalizes]

I know all the names in that field - because you're practically looking at them. No one has tried to scientifically quantify magic in the same way, except for, well, Phillip, but I've no idea where he's gotten himself to.

There are other scientists with similar bents, however, even if they haven't been fixated on the idea of actually breaching the Veil like we were. I can compile a list of names.

[She nods.]

It just might be worth looking into. Maybe we can try and at least get a little bit of a head start.

[And since she wasn't invited to the big Failboat party, she'll have to keep herself busy somehow.]

[rationalizes]

It can't hurt to dispatch Knights to keep an eye on them.

[allmydreams]

I'm definitely of the opinion that it's better to be safe than sorry.

[Maybe it's time they blindside them for a chance. Not that she thinks the odds are high, but she'll take a chance over nothing at all.]

[Myri doesn't especially mind if Jack is there or not, but it does help a great deal to be able to sit down next to her when she pulls the other woman in for a tight hug.

They can talk in a minute. Maybe.]

[rationalizes]

[ she hugs her tightly without hesitation, not eager to pull away either ] Thank you. I never doubted any of you would come.

[recruited]

[ He's not completely a hundred percent, but it could be worse. He's definitely not interested in discussing how he is. He knows he's not doing that bad. Considering they have three teammates that were blown up. He's not going to really complain or say much about whatever Keijen did to him. But he does feel obligated to check on her after a bit. His shield is left in his seat and he makes his way over. ]

Hanging in there? [ He doesn't make a move to sit. ]

[rationalizes]

It might be a bit before I can sleep well again at night, but... yes, I'm relieved to be here with you all. I can't thank you enough for the risk you took.

[recruited]

[ Steve understands nightmares. Even before being a Knight. You gotta find a way of dealing with all the craziness that can consume your life. Especially on the job. ]

Nah. [ He waves a had. ] Not a risk. Just doing my job.

[rationalizes]

Our job is a risk. A very real one. Especially where Blade is concerned.

[recruited]

Well, if that's the case then risks come with the job. Can't thank me for doing my job. As long as you're safe.

[rationalizes]

I can and I will, Steve. Don't argue with a woman fresh off a kidnapping.

[recruited]

[ Steve ducks his head for a moment and smiles. ]

Yes, ma'am. Understood.

[ Even if he doesn't think it's entirely necessary. ]

I'm just glad you're okay, Gar.

[rationalizes]

While I assure you I'm relieved of that as well, I only hope that they didn't get away with what they wanted from me in the first place.

[recruited]

You don't have any clue what they might have wanted out of your head do you?

[ That's scary. He can't imagine having that happen. ]

I'm sorry they put you through that.

[rationalizes]

On the contrary - I know exactly what they wanted.

Well, you're a pretty strong lady. Maybe they didn't get everything they wanted. He didn't seem too keen on giving you back to us. Maybe there's something to that.
