[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from rescuing Gar in New York City, but before the planned Keijen Blade concert at the beginning of 2017.

Being a knight certainly is never an easy thing, what with the kinds of choices that need to be made on missions, nor are things like adjusting to coming through the Veil. That's why the castle has a psychologist on hand, to help talk through these important issues, and while he can't prescribe meds, he can probably point you in the direction of someone who can help. His office is located in the Light Wing, and his door is almost always open, unless he happens to be with a patient.

It can be a one-off appointment or walk in, or you could be a regular patient with a weekly appointment, but either way, Sweets is here, and he is more than happy to help.

When he's not in his office, however, there's a wide variety of places you can find him in if you're just looking for a chat. Sweets finds himself spending a good amount of time at the piano in the music room lately, mostly plinking idly unless there's a particular song that's requested or comes to mind. It's possible that the itch has to do with a song that he either wants to write or can't remember, but either way, eventually he'll figure it out.

He also spends a fair amount of time in the training areas just keeping up with his fairly low level skills. He wanted to learn how to use a sword, and for the most part he's improving, thanks to help from his friends. But for the most part his skill is not all that impressive. There are reasons why he's not in the field.

Other than that, he can additionally be found in the kitchen, movie room and other various fun time zones throughout the castle. Feel free to stop by and say hi!

This time it isn't the music room where they meet, but the kitchen. She's in the process of figuring out what to make for herself when she spots him. And promptly freezes. She's still having trouble dealing with people and mostly keeps to herself. Somehow this man had managed to get under her skin the last time they'd spoken and now she has no idea what to do with him.

So for a few moments, she just stands there. At least her dinner so far consists of not cooking anything hot, so she's not about to burn down anything. That's a plus. For now.

Eventually, she swallows hard. "Hi."

Well. That mission went better than she thought it would have.

It isn't that she thought it would fail, necessarily, but going in, she knew the risk of it being a trap was high. But it was her idea that got them there in the first place, so it would have been a little bit dickish if she refused to go, whatever the case may be. That being said, she is very glad to have Gar back, and even though they didn't find Rafael, a partial success is better than no success at all, at least in her book.

Some may not feel the same way, but knowing the reasons why, she personally can't blame them for that.

After her post-mission nap comes her post-mission drink, which leaves her settled in the bar for a few hours. Once that routine is met, however, Felicity goes back to her usual routine, spending time in London when she needs to get out of the house, or when the weather gets gross and cold later, focusing on staying inside and working out in the training room. She is well aware she is behind the curve when it comes to the rest of the new team that she has found herself on as of late, and while she knows that she has her own skills to bring to the table, she doesn't want it to seem that she can't pull her own weight in a fight either.

She's mostly focusing on hand-to-hand, which has improved a great deal since she first started as a knight, but that doesn't mean occasionally the heavy bag doesn't swing around to smack her in the face. She also can be found on the shooting range, because a gun is still a girl's best friend.

She also doesn't know if there is training for resisting the thrall of people like Keijen and the Mind Master, but if there is, she wants to find it, which is why the final stop for this tour is the library. She knows that she could probably go talk to the head of the Dragon's Mind for more direct results, but she wants to have an idea of what to ask and not expect Sir Ellison to just educate her from the ground up. She also doesn't want to waste her time if no such thing exists.

Therefore, research it is.

One of the first orders of business once Felicity gets back from the mission after "sleep" and "eat" is to track down her new squire. She missed his squiring ceremony and while that is regrettable, she's more than willing to make up for it now, with a much better introduction. Instead of wandering the castle trying to find said squire all on her own, because that seems like way too much wasted time and effort, she simply sends him a text, asking him to meet her in the kitchen.

If there ever is a common denominator shared by anyone, it's food.

She is in the process of making herself a very long sandwich when Finn comes in and she looks up with a smile. "Finn, right? I'm Felicity."

While he understood why this meeting was shaking out the way it was, missions being important and all that, it does mean he's had to deal with the mild anxiety of anticipating said meeting.

His experience in the First Order didn't lead him to expect a bright-eyed, smiling young woman to greet him, either. Especially considering his last 'superior.'

"Uh, yeah. That's me." This is not how he expected this to go at all, already. "Do you...want some help?"

[at … some point, people would notice a new face often manning the front desk. i mean, if you use the term manning as loosely as possible. sometimes he picks up the phone and asks THE OTHER PERSON where this is, and is generally awful and useless. sometimes he looks at his various headshots. nothing he does is helpful in any way. wynn finally found his barbie dream receptionist.]

[Well, if nothing else, at least he's fairly pretty. That's the reason why Felicity comes to a stop in front of him, eyeing him curiously as she tries to figure out if she's seen him before.]

[with the Audrey Peterson trial growing closer, Sark's taken to working on his testimony, given it's one of the primary reasons he's here. he's situated himself in the library with a few articles pertaining to the trial, his own personal notes, and a few other assorted odds and ends.

he's also left a note at the front desk to inform Sydney Bristow he'd like to speak with her. hopefully one of the incompetent secretaries sees fit to give it to her.]

[ the knights' leader paces the hallways of the castle these days as though something heavier than usual weighs on his mind. he takes a moment to check in with those he comes across, makes more appearances among them than he might otherwise - and then is gone for weeks at a time, either in the shelter of his private room, or absent from the castle entirely. ]

[Derek has been quiet for the most part while in the castle. His thoughts tend to stray to all the things he learned from Scott about his past, and it was a lot to take in. To know he had lost. And something he wished there was a way to have returned to him. But the Veil sucked and as far as he had been told it was something that couldn't be fixed in him - and to try may just kill him.

Those are the thoughts on Derek's mind as he walks the hallways himself, trying to burn off the restless energy he had. He almost didn't see Wynn as he rounded the corner, but luckily he was quick on his feet and shifted back]

[ tracking rafael is a process that involves delving into anything that can be found about the black scourge - and the many enemies that he's made along the way. hiro and isabella did their job well, however, and it hasn't been exactly easy to find any trails to follow.

the job has taken them to italy itself, breaking into the homes and businesses of those connected to his victims, those who might have received an invitation to the auction designed to put the black scourge up on the block.

right now, they're parked a block away from a government official's house, the fourth in a string that they've 'visited' just in the past week, thus far to no avail. ]

[ jack flips to the next page on the tablet in his hand, that shows a photograph of the heavily bearded middle aged man ] Went on record with the local paper as proposing that all Shadow immigrants should be jailed until they've been vetted for entrance into free society. [ hasmed has been on hand to explain much of this world to solas, but the head of the dragon's fire has been just as eager to learn about the world that the elf comes from, which sounds so different from the shadow world as most know it. ]

I imagine the terminology is confusing, for it seems our Veils hold little in common.

[ the head of the dragon's hoard can be found in the laboratory or the hoard library, where she's pouring over the documents and blueprints brought back by spike from the new york city facility owned by draken crombe and his cronies. gar is on hand to assist her quite a bit of the time.

she's also making the rounds to check on the cybersecurity of the facility and the knights' records, after the glados disaster that compromised them the year before. you can never be too sure, and she won't settle for anything but perfection. ]

[ in the fall, koraith can be found in one of the common rooms watching the results of the US presidential election very quickly. his large shoulders slump as the evening progresses, and by the time a winner is called, and that winner is donald trump, he looks ready to be all but sick. ]

[ logan's nursing a beer on the leather couch in one of the tv rooms, sprawled out like he owns the place and watching tv coverage of the increasing amount of violence in america with a familiar frown on his lips.

[ belle's reluctant agreement to be the keeper of gold's dagger has led to a tense period of attempting to rebuild trust between the two of them. they've been assigned on a few mild missions together, where gold has more or less behaved in a fashion that is far from monstrous, but whether that's enough for her or not remains to be seen. she avoids spending a lot of time alone with him, although it's unclear whether that's discomfort, distrust, or simply feeling as if possession of the dagger itself has changed the power dynamics of their relationship in a way that she can't quite come to terms yet.

either way, he walks in on her one day with the dagger out and in her hands, her back to him as she turns it over, staring at the name inscribed there with a distant look in her eyes. ]

[Gold has barely even seen the dagger for long enough period to even come to terms with it- which is probably why it's so easy to not think of it in Belle's hands, the knowledge that she could order him to do whatever she wished little more than background noise.

and now he's just walked in on a stark reminder that he probably should've thought this through a little more. he only hesitates in the doorway a moment, schooling his expression so he doesn't look like he's stunned, and raps on the door frame to get her attention.]

[after the xibalba mission, not much changes for dante. he goes back to business as usual. most of his time is spent in the training room, and if you try to talk to him he'll tell you about how he's training for a longsword fighting competiton and then talk your ear off about ~historical european martial arts~ for like thirty minutes. it's great.

when he's not over there, he spend a lot of time chilling in the old man bar, which is a usual haunt for him.]

[ Gaz's spends much of her time training as well, working to improve her two-weapon fighting style. But after a hard day's work, they could all use a drink and a place to forget about the potentially horrible things they saw in the underdark.

[ the search for a missing jedi led several knights to a confrontation with a woman who goes by darth vane. the confrontation ended with jaina solo cutting off her sword arm at the shoulder, and the darksider explaining how the 'jedi' they had sought was in fact a fallen jedi, who had stolen a holocron that contained the teachings of a sith who turned to the light, determined to kill all sith instead, and destroy the notion that they could be redeemed.

wynn agreed to let them bring her back to headquarters to be contained until they could decide whether she was telling the truth, and he took possession of the holocron in the meanwhile, not eager to leave it in the hands of anyone until they had a better idea what they might be dealing with.

any plans to learn more from the sith, however, were cut short when she was found a few days later in her dungeon cell, entered in a sort of hibernative trance. she's remained as such ever since... until now, that is. ]

[Helen has kept to herself lately. After returning to the castle, she busied herself with work in the Hoard labs and the library. She keeps odd hours, avoiding people for the most part. When approached, she isn't rude, but her polite smile feels much less genuine.

For something more private, people are welcome to find her in her bedroom. She ends up sleeping in later than usual since she's staying up extra late in the lab and the library, so catching her there is easy enough, but she might be a little groggy.]

[Ashley has been avoiding people almost as much as her mother has. It's hard to have to explain what happened when she hasn't really even asked beyond what little she already knows, but she's often not sure if she even wants to.

That said, she knows this silence can't go on forever, even if that doesn't help in the present.

She runs into Helen one night when she's having trouble sleeping, thinking maybe reading something boring will help her, only to find her pouring over some text in the darkly lit room.]

[Jade's been focusing on getting used to this whole... knight life. Her favorite place? Definitely the kitchen. She's frequently found there, making all sorts of new and delicious chocoately cupcake treats. The castle now gets frequent shipments of very good, very expensive, very high quality chocolate for Jade to play with. This is the best way to spend her salary, right? Right.

When she's not baking, Jade hangs out in the training room, practicing with her jade dagger and working on some hand to hand stuff as well.

Food or fighting. What more does a girl need??]

[I'm totally going to come back to this once Barry is free of Sagebrush just because cupcakes, but until then, have a centurion wandering your way, as he follows his nose into the kitchen to try and sniff out what exactly smells so delicious.

[After returning from the mission, Myri tries to go back to her routine. A large chunk of that involves spending a great deal of time with her daughter. In fact, for the first several days after she gets back, Myri can't be seen without Shayla on her hip.

But eventually, she does need to get back to the rhythm of juggling work as a knight with being a mom. Thankfully, no one in the Light wing seems to mind her keeping a toddler around, but it's not always a place to keep a child, so she takes up the offers of those around her for babysitting as needed. When she gets a moment to herself, she likes to bring a book into one of the tv rooms to curl up on the couch and lose herself in a world that's a little less hectic than this one.

[ Smith's dating life is fairly limited since arriving on this side of the veil. Memory wipes and his job before joining the Knights left him a little isolated. On purpose. But he can't remain like that. He no longer has the hunter job to hide behind. He can be a functioning person.

When Myri gets back he gets the ball rolling a bit. There could have been some desperate attempts at cooking, but he doubts that anyone wants the firetrucks to visit. He opts to order in. Deciding it's easier all around. Especially after coming off a mission and having a daughter. It might make her a little more comfortable knowing she's a hop skip and a jump from her daughter.

Asking her is half the battle. It's been too long since he's asked anyone to dinner and he wonders what he's even supposed to do with his hands. But now he's here. The home stretch. Sorta. He set up a table in his room along with chairs. An intimate setting. He's hoping it isn't taken the wrong way, but he thought this would let them talk better than the grand hall and all of that. There are candles. Pretty settings. And a very nervous Smith waiting for her to knock on his door. ]

[ so, clark has been in england for a very long time, and lois has only grown more suspicious over time about this weird outfit that he's working with... which is one reason of many why she's saved up for a vacation to londinium itself. she doesn't even warn clark that she's coming - rather she lurks outside the downtown london office, trying to get the lay of the land, striking up innocuous conversations with people who come outside, maybe asking to share an umbrella, definitely ordering some coffee at the stand across the way. ]

[Being a knight can come with a bit of downtime. That being said, Rory spends quite a bit of his time in London, doing some volunteer work to keep his skills sharp and his mind busy. Any time that he can spend not dwelling on where things currently stand with his wife is probably for the best.

That being said, he still drops in at the London office when he is in the city, just in case he winds up staying late and wants to crash in the city instead of driving back to the castle. Today happens to be the morning after one of those days, and he spots Lois as he's stepping out, breakfast in hand - or more accurately, partially hand, partially mouth.

He freezes when he sees her, taking a moment to chew enough that he can speak politely, before swallowing.]

[Alainn isn't here for long, but she is planning on making the most of the time that she is here in the castle. She misses her friends, and Gar isn't the only one she wants to catch up with.

So she can be found wandering the halls, looking into the training rooms, the Hide rooms, the Fire wing, the Kitchen, everywhere seemingly looking for someone, but more than happy to talk to anyone who wishes to catch up.]

Mabel & Dipper Pines | The Kitchen | OTA

[The counter is currently piled with various cans, looking like a college dorm during finals week. The culprit behind this unholy abomination of caffeine is one Mabel Pines who has several pitchers worth of some bizarre pink liquid set up on the table, and is about to fill one more with the contents of the blender she’s been using (that steady RRRRR noise you keep hearing in the halls? That would be her).]

Ugh. Get off my butt, Dippin’ Dots. It’s not like I still put plastic dinosaurs in ‘em. [She adds, in a mockingly adult tone.] I’ve grown as a person since I was twelve and unconcerned about choking hazards.

You nearly swallowed a paintbrush just last week. [Dipper isn't actually looking up at Mabel. He has a book open and is sipping slowly from a much less colorful cup of coffee. But if he couldn't hold a conversation while he read, he'd never finish anything. Problem with having Mabel for a sister.] I'm just saying, you should put a warning label on it. Innocent bystanders could think it's safe for human consumption.

I fell asleep with it in my mouth! [So pressed.] Look, I’ll slap a stupid post-it note on the pitchers, if you really think it’s gonna be a biohazard issue, but mark my words, brother, by this time tomorrow everyone’s gonna be begging for more Mabel Juice.

[Dipper rolls his eyes and flips a page.] Or at the cleric's wing begging for death.

Ahsoka Tano | ota

[Ahsoka spends a lot of time training. She leaves her lightsabers attached to her belt as she instead practices hand to hand combat with the punching bags or takes her excalibur and tries it out. The weapon is heavy and clumsy compared to a blaster, and while it's worthwhile to her to learn how to use it, it doesn't take long for her to decide it's not worth relying on as her main weapon.

Eventually, she finds her way to one of the rec rooms where she starts herself on the process of familiarizing herself with Earth culture. TV shows are confusing and hard to follow initially, but she watches them with rapt attention. They contain so much information of what Earth is like, even the fictional ones, that she can't look away.

Video games, though less educational, capture her interest in a very different way. She may be a bit too competitive for a Jedi. Good thing she's not one.]

[dante happens upon her while she's watching tv, and plops down on the couch next to her because he had been specifically looking for her. like, as soon as wynn told him he had a squire. he was on a mission in the underdark ok, reception is really bad down there and it might've gotten lost in his voicemail or something. but it doesn't matter ok bc he is definitely on board with his whole thing now. and if not i guess they'll just watch that's so raven together.]
