[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from rescuing Gar in New York City, but before the planned Keijen Blade concert at the beginning of 2017.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. Oh! [This is way more interesting than the show.] Sorry, I knew they were assigning me to someone, but I wasn't sure when you'd actually be here. Nice to meet you.

Yeah, I've been out on missions and stuff for awhile. Sometimes the timing for these things is off. But! If you have any questions or need help or ... anything, I'm here now.

[She turns towards him, the Earth holovision--television show forgotten for the moment. It's hard not to think about her last Master. Jedi Knights and Silver Dragon Knights have a lot of differences, but there are some similarities as well, and she misses Anakin.

She misses a lot of people.]

How long are squireships, generally speaking? I was in a similar role in my home galaxy for a long time. I'd rather not repeat the same experience twice.

[well he is ... definitely not anakin, sorry gurl.]

It depends on who you have as your mentor. Lucky you, you've got me. Most of the time we use two successful missions as your assessment, then you're in, but sometimes it can be less or more depending on the kinds of missions those were, or circumstances. That sort of thing.

That's a lot faster than the years and hundreds of missions I went on with my last Master.

[buttholy]

[he squints a little like werwatey??? what did she just say??? what is happen.]

Er, uh, I'm not your master. I'm your mentor. Not that you actually have to call me that! Dante is fine. Sir Wilder if you wanna be super formal, but no master stuff. Anyway, yeah, I wouldn't say we fast-track, but ... if you're capable to handle the kind of work we do, it shouldn't take more than a few missions to be able to see that.

[She rolls her eyes.] You're not my master, but that's what we called it. Jedi Master and Padawan Learner.

[She's glad he's not, though she could use without the freaked out squinting. Anakin was her master, and she's not really looking to replace him. Really, this is enough like the Jedi Order without borrowing terminology.]

I think I can handle a few missions. [She's been leading missions since she was 14. And she might be out of practice, but she's not that rusty.]

[buttholy]

Have you been on any yet? I'm gonna read the reports, if you have, I just haven't gotten around to it.

[nojedi]

[She shakes her head.] Not yet. I hope I get to go soon, though. I want to see more of this planet.

[buttholy]

Totally. Earth's a pretty sweet place. You can travel before you go on any missions, just so you know. Just ... be careful. It's kind of dangerous out there right now. Like, everywhere, really.

[nojedi]

I can handle myself.

[She's a Jedi. Or she was. She's pretty dangerous herself.]

[buttholy]

I'm sure. Not doubting you at all there. There's just a lot of anti-Shadowkind sentiment going around right now. And I'd kind of like to keep my first squire intact as long as possible.

[nojedi]

Right. And somehow I'm guessing no one's going to be mistaking me for human. [Not that she particularly wants to be mistaken for human, but she knows it's sometimes safer. She's been in a lot of situations where she was the one of only a few Togruta around, but not to this extent.] I've lain low before. I can be careful.

[buttholy]

Not likely. [he shrugs, like trying to say no offense but also you probably already know this as a person with eyes.] I trust you, no worries. Just ... y'know. Trying to help.

[nojedi]

[She doesn't take it personally, exactly, but she still scowls.]

I know. I just don't like feeling like I have to hide.

[Might not be the first time, but it never feels better.]

[buttholy]

I get it. I'm sorry that it's like this.

[nojedi]

I get it. It's not your fault. Just one more reason I hope I get sent out on actual missions soon.

[buttholy]

You never know when you're gonna get pulled on a mission or not. Sometimes Wynn has a lot of stuff going on at once, sometimes there are just a few things going on, sometimes it's quiet. The downtime is a good opportunity to train, but like I was saying, you can also travel or do pretty much anything else you want.

It's less about boredom and more about purpose. I joined up to be a part of something. I'm not a part of anything while I'm benched.

[buttholy]

I get it. I really do. That's why I joined, too. I wanted to be a part of something. Help people. And I know how much it sucks to not be able to do anything. That's why I like to train when I don't have anything else going on. So when Wynn does finally ask me to go out there, I can be the best version of myself possible.

[nojedi]

I can only train for so long. In the end, it's not the same as actual experience.

[Not that she really lacks for experience. Fighting a war will certainly give you plenty of that.]

[buttholy]

If you've been waiting a long time, I guess you could go to Wynn. Just ask to be considered for the next mission to be sent out, something like that. But if there's nothing going on, there's nothing going on, y'know?

[nojedi]

I know. [She shakes her head. Patience has never been her strongest point, much to the chagrin of her former masters. Well, not her master. Anakin wasn't extremely patient himself. But many of the others.] I can settle for exploring the city on my own terms for now.
