[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from rescuing Gar in New York City, but before the planned Keijen Blade concert at the beginning of 2017.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. WE ARE BIG ON THREAD-JACKING HERE. I'm sure. Not doubting you at all there. There's just a lot of anti-Shadowkind sentiment going around right now. And I'd kind of like to keep my first squire intact as long as possible.

[nojedi]

Right. And somehow I'm guessing no one's going to be mistaking me for human. [Not that she particularly wants to be mistaken for human, but she knows it's sometimes safer. She's been in a lot of situations where she was the one of only a few Togruta around, but not to this extent.] I've lain low before. I can be careful.

[buttholy]

Not likely. [he shrugs, like trying to say no offense but also you probably already know this as a person with eyes.] I trust you, no worries. Just ... y'know. Trying to help.

[nojedi]

[She doesn't take it personally, exactly, but she still scowls.]

I know. I just don't like feeling like I have to hide.

[Might not be the first time, but it never feels better.]

I get it. I'm sorry that it's like this.

[nojedi]

I get it. It's not your fault. Just one more reason I hope I get sent out on actual missions soon.

[buttholy]

You never know when you're gonna get pulled on a mission or not. Sometimes Wynn has a lot of stuff going on at once, sometimes there are just a few things going on, sometimes it's quiet. The downtime is a good opportunity to train, but like I was saying, you can also travel or do pretty much anything else you want.

It's less about boredom and more about purpose. I joined up to be a part of something. I'm not a part of anything while I'm benched.

[buttholy]

I get it. I really do. That's why I joined, too. I wanted to be a part of something. Help people. And I know how much it sucks to not be able to do anything. That's why I like to train when I don't have anything else going on. So when Wynn does finally ask me to go out there, I can be the best version of myself possible.

[nojedi]

I can only train for so long. In the end, it's not the same as actual experience.

[Not that she really lacks for experience. Fighting a war will certainly give you plenty of that.]

[buttholy]

If you've been waiting a long time, I guess you could go to Wynn. Just ask to be considered for the next mission to be sent out, something like that. But if there's nothing going on, there's nothing going on, y'know?

[nojedi]

I know. [She shakes her head. Patience has never been her strongest point, much to the chagrin of her former masters. Well, not her master. Anakin wasn't extremely patient himself. But many of the others.] I can settle for exploring the city on my own terms for now.

[buttholy]

Cool. If you want to hang out with me, let me know. Not that you're required to or anything.

[nojedi]

No, no! I'd like that. [He's not Anakin. No one could be Anakin. But he seems nice enough, and she has few enough friends here as it is. Anyone who might be able to help her get her bearings is good.]

[buttholy]

Great! Just ... you know. Call or text or come find me whenever you want to head out. [he's trying to be friendly but also not too pushy bc this is his first squire and he wants her to like him :c!!]

[nojedi]

[It's pretty different from her first experience with Anakin, who hadn't intended to sign up for a squire and didn't want her until they did a mission together. But she's different too. No one could possibly replace Anakin for her, and she's not as desperate for a mentor as she was then. She doesn't know if she'd have the patience for a mentor that wanted nothing to do with her.

So she just nods, giving him a small smile.]

Sure, that sounds good.

[buttholy]

Yeah? Good.

[with that out of the way, he finally notices what ... she's watching ...]

That's So Raven, huh?

[nojedi]

Hm? [She blinks, then turns back to the show.] Oh, the holodrama! The... very flat holodrama.

[She misses space technology.]

Yes, I've known Jedi to have similar precognitive abilities.

[buttholy]

[he thinks she means it's emotionally flat, which ... he's not going to argue ok. that's so raven was not the best programming disney has ever given us.]

It's kind of a thing here. I mean, there are psions, you'll probably run into a few around the castle, but there aren't that many of them. And their lives usually aren't ... this cheesy.

[nojedi]

Psions. [She nods, though she doesn't entirely understand. People have powers here that are so different from the ones Jedi have. Even the similar ones are called different things and treated differently.]

I've had a few premonitions, but nothing on the scale of Raven.

[buttholy]

Wow, really? What happened?

[nojedi]

I had a dream a friend was in danger. She... wouldn't take appropriate precautions, but she allowed me to guard her until I found the threat and took care of it.

[buttholy]

Cool. That's lucky then, you were able to help her like that.

[nojedi]

I was a Jedi. It was my job.

[She's not a Jedi anymore, but she probably still would.]

[buttholy]

I guess you'll be ready for being a knight, then. They don't seem that different.
