[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from rescuing Gar in New York City, but before the planned Keijen Blade concert at the beginning of 2017.

You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. [Ahsoka spends a lot of time training. She leaves her lightsabers attached to her belt as she instead practices hand to hand combat with the punching bags or takes her excalibur and tries it out. The weapon is heavy and clumsy compared to a blaster, and while it's worthwhile to her to learn how to use it, it doesn't take long for her to decide it's not worth relying on as her main weapon.

Eventually, she finds her way to one of the rec rooms where she starts herself on the process of familiarizing herself with Earth culture. TV shows are confusing and hard to follow initially, but she watches them with rapt attention. They contain so much information of what Earth is like, even the fictional ones, that she can't look away.

Video games, though less educational, capture her interest in a very different way. She may be a bit too competitive for a Jedi. Good thing she's not one.]

[dante happens upon her while she's watching tv, and plops down on the couch next to her because he had been specifically looking for her. like, as soon as wynn told him he had a squire. he was on a mission in the underdark ok, reception is really bad down there and it might've gotten lost in his voicemail or something. but it doesn't matter ok bc he is definitely on board with his whole thing now. and if not i guess they'll just watch that's so raven together.]

What gave it away? [She spares him a glance, looking away from the teen witch on her screen with tilt of her head. She's the only Togruta in the entire world, as she can tell. Leads to a bit of cynicism.] Who are you?

[buttholy]

I asked about you. [RAVEN IS A TEEN MEDIUM EXCUSE U. but he's getting himself comfortable.] I'm your mentor, Dante.

Oh! [This is way more interesting than the show.] Sorry, I knew they were assigning me to someone, but I wasn't sure when you'd actually be here. Nice to meet you.

Yeah, I've been out on missions and stuff for awhile. Sometimes the timing for these things is off. But! If you have any questions or need help or ... anything, I'm here now.

[She turns towards him, the Earth holovision--television show forgotten for the moment. It's hard not to think about her last Master. Jedi Knights and Silver Dragon Knights have a lot of differences, but there are some similarities as well, and she misses Anakin.

She misses a lot of people.]

How long are squireships, generally speaking? I was in a similar role in my home galaxy for a long time. I'd rather not repeat the same experience twice.

[well he is ... definitely not anakin, sorry gurl.]

It depends on who you have as your mentor. Lucky you, you've got me. Most of the time we use two successful missions as your assessment, then you're in, but sometimes it can be less or more depending on the kinds of missions those were, or circumstances. That sort of thing.

That's a lot faster than the years and hundreds of missions I went on with my last Master.

[buttholy]

[he squints a little like werwatey??? what did she just say??? what is happen.]

Er, uh, I'm not your master. I'm your mentor. Not that you actually have to call me that! Dante is fine. Sir Wilder if you wanna be super formal, but no master stuff. Anyway, yeah, I wouldn't say we fast-track, but ... if you're capable to handle the kind of work we do, it shouldn't take more than a few missions to be able to see that.

[She rolls her eyes.] You're not my master, but that's what we called it. Jedi Master and Padawan Learner.

[She's glad he's not, though she could use without the freaked out squinting. Anakin was her master, and she's not really looking to replace him. Really, this is enough like the Jedi Order without borrowing terminology.]

I think I can handle a few missions. [She's been leading missions since she was 14. And she might be out of practice, but she's not that rusty.]

[buttholy]

Have you been on any yet? I'm gonna read the reports, if you have, I just haven't gotten around to it.

[nojedi]

[She shakes her head.] Not yet. I hope I get to go soon, though. I want to see more of this planet.

[newgenwraith]

[Poe was coming in to do some target practice when he saw Ahsoka at the target. He watched a moment, then smiled]

Want some help with that?

[nojedi]

With the blaster? [She grimaces and corrects herself.] The gun. How do people deal with such heavy projectiles? It's so archaic.

[newgenwraith]

[Poe grinned and reached into his hip holster, pulling out a standard Republic blaster]

Either, actually. I agree, but this planet is a bit backwards when it comes to technology.

[nojedi]

[Well, that looks familiar. Ahsoka smiles and puts the gun down, instead unclipping a lightsaber from her belt and flicking it on, a beam of white light emanating from it.]

Tell me about it.

Sorry, haven't really had any good experiences lately on the opposite side of one of those.

...I'm not going to use it on you. [She turns it off with a roll of her eyes.] I don't generally turn it on allies.

I didn't think you were, but good to know. Just you know, playing with those things and then accidents happen and can't really bring back an arm.

[nojedi]

Actually, around here you can. But I've never cut off any limbs I didn't intend to cut off.

[Very… comforting….]

...no, I'd rather not test that theory.

But I can give you some pointers on their Excalibers.

I guess. [She eyes the gun in her hand.] Though I'm probably going to stick to my lightsabers for the most part. They're what I know.

[newgenwraith]

Are you good deflecting bullets with them? That's definitely something you're going to need to be good at then - especially if you can deflect it back to whoever shot it.

[nojedi]

[She rolls her eyes.]

I was trained by Anakin Skywalker. I fought on the front lines of the Clone Wars. Believe me, I know how to handle myself in battle.

[She's still young, but she's been leading armies since she was 14.]
