[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from rescuing Gar in New York City, but before the planned Keijen Blade concert at the beginning of 2017.

Only a million? [The corners of her mouth turn up slightly.] Well, don't just sit there talking it up. Slice that puppy up and we'll see if it's as good as you say it is.

[buttholy]

Okay, okay. Get ready for this. [he finds a pizza cutter in a drawer and gets down to business, neatly and precisely slicing the pizza up. when he's done, he grabs plates and gets a slice ready for her.] Try it, see for yourself.

[inacup]

[Oh no. He's so cute with his very precise cutting. Jade flies really fast and loose in the kitchen. Her decorating skills are pretty on point, but the actually measuring is so messy and haphazard. She leans an elbow on the counter and rests her chin in her hand, watching as he prepares a the pizza to share with her.]

Drumroll please. [She says as she pulls the plate closer to her and picks up the slice to take a bite. She chews thoughtfully, eyes closing to give the illusion that she is taking this very seriously.

After about 30 seconds of drawing it out, she opens her eyes and taps her chin thoughtfully.]

Carbs, more carbs, and cheese. There's really no downside.

[he makes a drumroll noise on the counter with his hands when she makes the drumroll comment, ftr.]

Right? I told you. I've had it with bacon before, too ... that's okay, but there's no point in fixing what isn't broken.

[inacup]

[She takes another bite of the pizza because this slice is hers and it's not about to go to waste.]

People are obsessed with bacon these days. I can't tell you how many hipsters asked me if I had a chocolate bacon cupcake at my bakery. I'm like... just stop! If you want the salty-sweet thing, there are way better options.

[buttholy]

[he wrinkles his nose at the idea of bacon and chocolate. bcuz it's gross.]

I'll say. Don't get me wrong, I like bacon, but bacon and chocolate is just ... wrong.

[inacup]

[Someone who gets it! She's so thrilled. Dante may be her food soul mate.]

Salted caramel is so much better, but bacon is so trendy that everyone is tripping over themselves about it without realizing that they're eating garbage food.

[buttholy]

Ugh. I think there's definitely a such thing as too much of a good thing.

[inacup]

Exactly! [She puts the slice down and wipes her hands on her jeans.]

Sorry, I've been eating your food without even asking what your name is. I'm Jade.

[She offers a hand to shake and she's surprisingly strong so watch out.]

[buttholy]

[he laughs, so he must be ok with it.] I'm Dante. It's good to meet you, Jade.

[that's a strong handshake son. but his isn't too shabby either so it's fine.] How long have you been here?

[inacup]

I was squired back in July. Doesn't feel like it's been that long, but... time flies, I guess.

What about you?

[buttholy]

I've been around for a few years. Which is weird, it doesn't really feel that long for me either. But there you go.

[inacup]

So what's your thing? ...Sect? Club? Whatever.

[buttholy]

[he laughs] Hide. I'm in Dragon's Hide.

[inacup]

That's the combat guys, right? I feel like "hide" is misleading. Like, I get that it's supposed to mean you guys are tough like dragon scales or whatever, but... Dragon's Teeth or something would be way scarier.

[buttholy]

You can't think of it like that. Hide isn't necessarily offensive, although we have to be sometimes. We're there to protect people who are weaker. I think that's the reasoning behind the name.

[inacup]

Huh... I guess that makes sense. I've only seen a few hanging around the training area. That's what I get for making assumptions.

[buttholy]

A lot of us do spend a lot of time in the training room, self included. I'm not gonna say there isn't some truth in that particular stereotype.

[inacup]

Nothing wrong with that. If I'm not here baking, I'm usually there myself. I'm surprised I haven't run into you before.

[buttholy]

That is pretty funny. I guess I've been trying to do some more training outside recently ... I do competitive longsword fighting, and there's a competition coming up. I wanna make sure I'm ready.

Oh man- are you any good?

Not to brag, but I've taken home medals.
