[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of these few months. Because not everyone is into parties, ok. Characters who are not currently squired in may also post, as their characters are living in the castle awaiting their ceremonies.  This takes place after the Knights have returned from rescuing Gar in New York City, but before the planned Keijen Blade concert at the beginning of 2017.

[ like on the one hand red flags but on the other hand she can't genuinely claim luke skywalker or jaina solo to be masters, for different reasons, so she reluctantly shakes her head. ]

honestly, the Veil really could have done her a solid on that one. She would not have been mad about forgetting some of that psychopath (read: all). But now she's just like is the dark side a pyramid scheme ?? ? do they need to recruit x members to keep their gold status ??? ]

The kind who inspires faith. Trust. Loyalty. From good people. If you ask me, that counts for something.

[ her interactions with wynn have been few, but he's Good People on account of having the high opinion of so many of Her People. ]

And what does he do, to earn such loyalty?

Well, he doesn't choke people, for starters. [his arms are crossed, and he's going to just give Rey a look of why are you telling her stuff. She's the bad guy.]

[ rey shrinks, somewhat, and goes quiet when poe comes in because he does a good impression of "when your father hears about this, young lady." still, she casts an askance glance to vane. just because she can't articulate why she has to have this conversation doesn't change her investment in it. ]

Every leader shows strength in some manner, whether through crude force or not. Makes it clear that they are not to be trifled with. Is he so different than that?

No.

[ she's not going to sit around and wring her hands about power and those who wield it or its corrupting influence. that's too high up maslow's hierarchy of needs for this sand rat. it's gonna be hard to pry more than that out of her with poe here because she feels self aware of the questions she wants to ask about the force. but she also finds his presence a strange relief, as if he swept her away from the brink of something. ]

Ruling through fear and force doesn't make a real leader. It makes a dictator.

[he's protective of you, Rey. He doesn't want you to be self-conscious but he also doesn't want this woman to pull one over on you.]

You're the one equating fear and force with strength. I merely asked how he showed that he was strong.

No, you actually were asking how he earns loyalty. You're the one who equates earning of loyalty with a show of strength. Doesn't work that way. It's trust, and it's not something you show - it's something you earn in your behaviors and actions. Not just one either, but in multiple ways.

The biggest being in showing trust first.
